Jeremy isn't suppose to be a perfect hero. He is rather dark and doesn't always act the way a gamer should act. Riding on people when you beat them at a game is really not a good idea. The character is making fun of all the people on cncreplays.org back in the day that took gaming very, very seriously.

It's a satirical show. While Jeremy is now a protagonist, the show was originally meant simply to joke and poke fun at the dumbasses who do speak like that(I am guilty of saying 'lol' and other similar words when actually speaking however ).

Everyone talked like Jeremy in a game atleast one time in there lives, and you can't hide it, everyone tried it out. But you always end up being flamed...

Typing like Jeremy should be punishable by death.

Peaking like him in RL though, isn't really that bad. I always used gaming terms in RL speech before Pure Pwnage and I still do today.

I myself talk somewhat like jeremy in rl, with all the likes, and stufffs, and rights. And I did that long before I ever saw the show, I'm Dutch and I even talk like that in Dutch I never use gaming terms though.

It can be a little annoying, but I figure if people want to do it, that's thier deal. Even more annoying, to me, is when someone types like jeremy in an intro thread and then the next 10 people jump on and tell them not to talk like jeremy. Just chill, people...

I think Its fine to copy him just for fun. Not seriously talk like that all the time. Its just like when we used to watch superman and batman when we were little. a lot of little kids acted and still do act like thier favorite super hero. How can it not be fun walking around with a bandana on ur head and saying lol and calling people noobs. its fun.

but don't copy him in everything u do. like typing n stuff righh? ppl liek toally shouldn't do taht. lol

and plus yeah I did all that stuff before the show. I used "like" a lot and used other gaming words.

While I agree that you should have your own identity and not need to talk/type like jeremy....

I have noticed my usage of the word 'pro' has increased ten-fold.

Ever since I watched PP I've been using words liek lol, n00b, pro, and other stuff when I talk in RL.

it really depends what do u mean "copying" as in the way he talks, or other things he does

I have to agree on the typing issue in that its just annoying sometimes =\

However there is a difference in copying his speech and using some of the same terms. I think there is nothing wrong with saying own or n00b etc.

What annoys me are the people who completely rip off the phrases from the show. I mean its fine if you give credit you know.

Jeremy is the sum of all gamers. basically, Jeremy = 100% pure concentrated PP forums. I think the biggest reason that people have flocked to the show over the years is the fact that they can identify with one of the characters either as themselves or as someone they know.

I do admit that when I'm speaking to people (ideally only my gamer friends), I/we often use words like "lol" and "omfg" just because we're nerds. It's not as if we're talking like "Oh yeah n' i p00ned dat n00b cuz' im liek uber pr0 n' stuffz" and den i was al liek ggnore." We simply do it because that's the kind of communication we're highly exposed to, whether it be Pure Pwnage or online gaming.

I think aslong as you keep the "gaming" slang and poor grammar under control and don't openly talk like that to strangers just asking directions to the mall, there's no need to worry about this sort of thing.

Yeah. I don't type like that but I will say it. I don't know why but I find it kind of funny when people say stuff like "LOL" ,"N00b" ,"0wnd/Pwnd" and "RL" in real life. I'll use game/online talk in real life but I hate using it online.
