To throw it in..I get to borrow a Nikon 80-200 F2.8 for a while.
This is what comes out of it:

Just look at that DoF

I'm pretty happy with it. Thing is, this lens is as old as I am.. The Autofocus relies on my D80's in-body motor, It's a push-pull zoom. There's no accessories, no sun hood, nothing, the aperture ring and A/M switch make grinding noise.. and there's a clear scratch on the front element. But god the image quality is good

The guy wants €500 for it, while this thing is not worth more then $400 at MOST. So it's going to be some serious heckling.
you want this lens *jedi hand wave*

HOW did I miss taht lens on amazon?! That's one of the ones i use at school for god's sake!
Oh & as far as that lens you're using goes.... even at that price, if it's over. You can't argue with images like that. Imo, it's the images that justify the price of the lens, not the features, or age of the lens. That's the reason I hate my 75-300. it is not worth ANYWHERE near the price canon wants for it. it produces bad images, and has no USM or IS to help me with low light stuff, therefore i always get blurry images at late-day time. (which is when i do most of my bird photography, or in the morning, which is almost the same lighting. lol)
I say go for that lens, if you can heckle it down lower than great, but with images like that, the price is well worth it.
EDIT: delima. My 16th birthday is coming up. My mom keeps asking me what I want to do. I want to travel. To somewhere beautiful. Somewhere where I can get great photos. Somewhere........... within the u.s. -___-. That wouldn't be a problem, except, well, my family doesn't have a lot of money, so it can't be expensive, or a really tourist-ish place. Ugh. I need help guys.
