srsly though, Xbox 360 came out in 2005 didnt it??, so how did they get it in 2004 i want this time traveling machine!!

Funny that, I've never heard about this. I'm not sure who's at fault here, either M$ or the power supply manufacturer, but the family do deserve some kind of compensation.

I don't think they should sue MS for what happened, because the wall outlet caused the fire, not the Xbox.

It was a recalled power connecter. Recalled means you send it in.

If a pet were to die from eating recalled infected food right now (God forbid) the company wouldn't be at fault. Simply because the product was recalled.

There is no way that MS will lose the case.

Its really sad when this sort of thing happens. Id almost think microsoft should give them compensation...but then EVERY money hungry asshole would be after it from minor damages caused by the faulty powercord.

But then again, if lawsuit money will fill the gaping hole in your life left by your child burning to death, you dont deserve to live.

It's probably the fault of the company that made the power cord, not the PSU. The family is wasting their time though. I'd rather just try to get over the problem than fight a losing battle. Microsoft should give them some kind of compensation though. Maybe not money but grief counselling would be cool.

Dodgy power cord yes, they got nothing on MS or Wal-Mart going on that story as much as I'd like to see them sued. No particular reason apart from it'd be amusing to see.

Already been said but whatever, The 360 was released around December 2005, So it is impossible for them to have one in my opinion. A faulty power cord, Sounds a little odd aswell.. If they noticed anything they should have got it replaced in the first place.
They will not win against microsoft with that kind of story either pp_smiley14.gif The 360 part sounds fake to me.

Maybe they are old and got confused with the 360 and normal xbox pp_smiley14.gif

So their child is dead, and they're just thinking about money? Some people need to seriously rethink their values.

The family might of got confused between the original Xbox and Xbox 360, in 2004, it's obviously the original xbox.

They can't sue M$ for something like that anyway, it's not a design flaw of the Xbox, and if it is a faulty power lead, who's to blame for that?
