I like where they're going with this. No green screen bullshit, they actually went to Morocco to film the majority of the movie. Just that Jake Gyllenhaal's face is funny looking in my opinion. Don't know how this is gonna look as a movie since there isn't enough actual movie footage. I don't hate what I'm seeing though.

That dude is definitely a guy I look at and say "Yep, he's Persian all right."
What came first, the spamming or the misery? People worry about kids playing with guns, or watching violent videos, that some sort of culture of violence will take them over. Nobody worries about kids reading thousands, literally thousands of posts about anime, 4chan, flaming, goatse and emos. Did I make terrible posts because I was miserable? Or was I miserable because I made terrible posts?

His face doesn't seem at all right, IMO.
It's definately funny looking. Hopefully he just looks like that in interviews and he's got that bad ass mother fucker face going when filming.

The Prince never looked Persian anyways.

I really like the trailer. I still don't like the fact that Disney has something to do with it since I think they might tone down the violence. On the other hand, it's the producers of PoTC. But I don't seem to be bothered by it so far.

I was really amazed that he sounded somewhat like the prince. That was one thing I was worried about when I heard JG was going to do it. His face does look a little off though.
Cross fingers for a good video game movie.

same. I've never been a HUGE fan of Jake Gyllenhaal, but everything I've seen him in he does a great job.

I've learned over the years not to get excited about movies based on video games. This might turn out to be good, but chances are it's going to blow just like the majority of them. Every time I think of a video game based movie I think of the movie version of Doom with The Rock. I think that was the video game movie I ever saw, and I'm still trying to get over how crappy it was.

It looks like an enjoyable film, I'm not expecting anything epic though.
Probably blow all other video game movies out of the water. Except maybe Resident evil 1.

Just came back from it.
I thought it had a real slow cheesy start, but the movie really caught on after the first fifteen minutes and I was completely hooked. This is a video game movie so I had probably very low expectations, and the script-writing is the real fucking downfall of this movie, because some of the lines just made me cringe so much, I wanted to throw something at the screen.
But it was a bareable and the movie was entertaining none the least, and I enjoyed it as far as it went. I played the game when I was ten years old, so I'm not here to compare the game to the movie since I barely remember it but as a movie, up to the last 15 minutes, it's a solid film because the ending is where everything fucking crashes. Holy fuck have I ever seen such a fucking horrible ending to any movie, I wanted to close my eyes throughout all of it. THE FUCKING PAIN. It was disgusting. If this ending wasn't so bad, then maybe I would actually watch this movie a second time and consider it a "good" film. But holy fuck I can't.
I wouldn't hate a sequel though, hire a bunch of new writers and keep Jake as the Prince in the next movie, he was seriously the only redeeming thing about the movie.

I saw it yesterday. My biggest issue was that it felt like the preview was all the best parts in the movie, and the story revolved around them going from piece to piece in the trailer. There really wasn't a lot more than you see in the trailer that was really "good". It was good for a video game movie, but the story and execution really pale in comparison to the story and execution of the games (especially the sands of time trilogy).
I'm also slightly upset that they named it "Sands of Time" when it had nothing to do with the sands of time trilogy.
Lastly the dagger is only used like 4 times in the movie, which is horseshit.

Yes, that bothered me too... there's lots of scenes I thought the dagger could have been used but wasn't. But I felt the writers thought it would be more exciting to let those events happen since you can create a dark mood that can be completely reversed in the end with some really bad writing to an ending of movie.
I thought the movie would have been much better if the ending would have been different... It's not that I'm a sucker for dark endings, but it would have been much more original than that cheesy hollywood ending.

I liked the ending because it was similar to the game's ending. I actually would have liked it more if it was closer to that (the prince goes back before the attack, sneaks into the city, and warns the princess).
idk I just really liked the PoP:SoT game so much.
