This is just horrible.. Before leaving for school this morning I heard about someone having killed a few people.. In the car I heard there'd been 33 casualties and my heart actually sank. And I never pray either since I think it's dumb, but this time I crossed my hands and did it. I don't know why this touches me so much.. It just does.. Feels so unnecessary and horrible.. There's no way in hell I'm ever gonna move to the US. Just visiting the severely messed up country seems frightening to me.
And on the subject of guns: They should be fucking banned from everyone except the police. I don't care if 'not owning one' gets a few people killed a year. 11 and a half thousand is a bloody immense amount of people.

weve discussed gun bans....READ THE FUCKING THREAD

im tired of coming in here and seeing a debate on gun control, and how bad america is.....DEBATE THE TOPIC, OR START YOUR OWN

guns and america have been adressed, talk about the actual incident

the first ammendment ( i think, correct me if i'm wrong) allows U.S. citizens to bear arms.

First Amendment is freedom of speech.

And I didn't get Tubby's post, but the thing about a 6 shot revolver, what about intimidation shots? In the heat of the moment you're gonna fire a few quick and random to at least scare your assailant, and lowering the clip size only reduces the chance for you to hit your attacker.

Remember that "invention" thread and I said I'd have every monitor installed with a secret fist in the monitor that would shatter it to pieces when it flew out and knocked the kid in the face?

...Here's me wishing I patented it just a bit earlier before you bought your monitor.

I know I know... Though 'extremely safe' is an exaggeration, as well. Finland, Sweden and Norway are countries I'd call extremely safe icon_razz.gif You can basically pass out on the street without even getting touched, lol. AND these low-life Ghettos don't exist here. There are no dark alleys you can't visit at night. Most big American cities are quite dangerous.

well we do have Jamppa , witch is almoust ghetto...

I have a Norwegian friend and she says that it is quite safe, but also that it is the most boring place on the face of the earth. They also have some fucked up laws imo like the max sentence for murder over there is 21 years I believe. - that just seems kind of strange.

I think it's a horrible thing - I was astounded when I heard it on the radio today.
That's.... I just hope that all those who didn't die yet - will survive.

yeah, paramedics said that the majority of the wounded were superficial woundings....that most had bullet grazes and broken arms, bruises and the like....that only a couple were in the intensive care unit

oh boy....
That sucks. Why do they do that in schools icon_sad.gif

Why can you buy a weapon in the USA? Why dont they make it illegal....
Isnt this like the 4637st time in USA?
I think we should not blame the firearms law. I will explain why I think like this, to anyone who thinks that I'm wrong:

I am no friend of Hillibillies with shotguns, but kind of saying "weapons out of America, less murderers, kaboom!" isn't far away from "deinstall Counter-Strike and Postal, less potential homidicial maniacs, zackpaff!".

Making it the firearms law's fault for those amok runs is as purblind as searching for videogames or music-artists to blame them - even if the direct connection seems to be given in first place.
I am no friend of the (current) propaganda-attitude of America, but I certainly know that people there are better than their reputation.

War has always been a very important component in the (young) culture of America.
That's why there's still this doubtful firearms law.
But weapons - and there I have to agree with the weapons-lobbyists - don't kill people.

It just seems far too lenient, but it's just my imo and is off topic so don't worry about it.

It reminds me of a Manchurian Candidate scenario. It doesn't help that the number of deaths was 33 (32 + the shooter). I am sure some of those who are here realize the significance of the number 33. I am sorry to say I don't buy this story one bit.

You don't think one guy could kill more than 30 people, is that what you're saying?
If you do so, think that way:

You don't have anything to lose, anyway. Most people annoyed you at school because they mobbed you because you are an emo, or whatever. Just someone "who doesn't fit in". It doesn't matter why, at all. The point is, that it seems like he wanted to have revenge.
I am no educationalist and I certainly don't want to play like some skilled psychologist-games, but I think he was just pissed off and shot bullets into the classrooms, randomly.
He didn't give a shit about what would happen, he would be dead in "a few minutes" anyway.
I don't know how many pupils visit your school, but we've got around 2000 here, that's a bunch.
Now imagine one floor in a building. When I go through the first level, I have like 10 rooms on my way until I reach the staircase.
If I'd open up every door I cross and shoot a pistol or an automatic gun for like 10 seconds, each door, I certainly would have about 30 people killed or at least hurt deadly.
It's not that unrealistic, you know. And I do believe the guy could have done it without regrets.

At this point they're saying that they're almost positive that it was the one guy, and that at least one of the guns were used in both shootings. And as you guys know I'm against not pro-guns, but I do think that the cops fucked up hardcore. I mean if you were in that situation, you hear a few rounds popped on a supposedly gun free campus what do you do? CALL A BUDDY FOR HELP, CALL OTHER POLICE DEPARTMENTS, SWAT TEAM, FBI, CIA, 007, THE FIRE DEPARTMENT, AMBULANCE, HOSPITALS IN ALL 50 STATES, THE MEDICAL DEPARTMENT AT THE SCHOOL, THE ARMY, MARINES, NAVY, AIRFORCE, COASTGUARD, THE DAMN GHOSTBUSTERS, you get everyone you can out there asap.

You and about 50 other ppl who've already posted...Banning guns is not ever going to happen, so there's no point in arguing any more.

If you want to bash the gun laws in America I suggest you read all of the other posts that have been made about them first. It seems like people keep repeating the same arguments over and over again, and I'm pretty fucking tired of it. Read up first.

I'm not just talking to you; I'm talking to everyone.
