I think he was going for figurative man.
If he wasn't, this thread would be two posts long and I'd have another reason to question snagglepusses sanity.
No doubt that's what he meant, but it's kind of a pointless question since what makes a "man" a "man" is probably different for everyone.
For me personally, I'd say that I consider myself a "man" because I am responsible, but for others it may be different:
Like a person may consider himself a "man" because they know and admit their faults, or perhaps because they live on their own, or, and I'm stretching it here, because they can buy beer without getting carded.
