One word describes how I feel right now: gutted.

Warmups: Played two matches. Both ffa's. Win both. Tournament settings are 4 minute matches with all items on.

Round 1: Tournament settings are 4 minute matches with all items on. To make matters worse old Inf is put in my group. We battle it out and I find myself ruthlessly hunting bowser. Maybe because he was the biggest target, maybe all those losses to inf has ingrained a hatred for that big lizard into me. Whatever it was I get through and knock inf out. Ali does well as D3 in his group too and win's his ffa.

Round 2: A Ike v Ike (1v1) match. I was the better player but the whole game went insane and my opponent put up a good fight. We spend a good 5 seconds throwing one pokeball between us and catching it untill i finally unleash it to reveal the pokemon that makes us switch bodies. Lol. Eventually though i win the match. Unfortunately Ali blunders his 1v1 and goes out.

Round 3, the Semi final: For some reason someone thought a 4 player ffa would be better then 3 1v1's. I wasnt playing great and two pikachu's were just annoyingly spamming lightning. Lost by one point.

God so close to that ipod nano and in all likelyhood the TV. Sigh....With Inf out that competition should of been mine. Me and Inf were by far the best players there.

A good summary. Inf was so damn unlucky. Well we all were. Good fun though, pitty either of you didn't make it any further.

You were the ONLY person I killed in that FFA, everyone else I just failed at but I back aired you twice off the edge and then got a gigabowswer KO, everyone else just got raped by Ike's insane FFA power. More annoyingly was that in all the random matches we played beforehand without each other in there, we both raped. Ugh. And then you lost by only 1 point If you'd gotten into the final (which was actually a 1v1) you woulda won.

It was still fun but just a little frustrating, especially since everyone else was so terrible at the game (we had a guy talking to me and Ali afterwards about how he'd been using every tactic which is why he won the match he'd just played when all he's really done was just hit downB a lot s kirby and get the smash ball). The only other people who had the vaguest idea of how to win got knocked out because they were FFAs (there was an OKish metaknight guy who lost becuase meta sucks balls in FFA and one guy who was alright as Ike that MaterC beat). Ah well, if only we could have a free entry 1v1 tourney for a 40" TV. IF ONLY!

God damnit, I'd promised myself I wouldn't buy this after I canceled my pre order a few months ago. Wanted to refuse to buy any Nintendo game from then on but I crumbled when I was in town yesterday. :/

Played through the suitably shit single player thing to unlock everybody. I didn't get Toon Link, Jigglypuff or Wolf though. Will have to get them later I guess.

I did think the cutscenes were pretty fantastic though, I especially thought Diddy dragging Fox and then Falco around was great, and basically whenever Fox or Falco were flying around in their fighters was tingly. Sonic's intro was kind of weak though, I mean there was just hardly anything to it.

Can't wait to get to play this with my friends.

Hell, this game is awesome for anyone who thinks nintendo worlds mixing is brilliant XD

I used to play and own Super Smash Brothers Melee, so did I have the GameCube.
Then I sold everything and logically haven't played either of them for quite a while.
Yesterday, I played SSBB for the first time, and Super Smash in generel for the first time since years, again, and I must admit: Too many characters and options are too much for me, I don't like the game. I hope you guys don't share the same opinion, but I believe SSBB looks just like the GameCube-version of SSB Melee and I didn't enjoy one second playing.

Well I've unlocked everybody now so there's not much point doing that rather than Brawls. Me and a few friends ended up here last night. Got here about 3am and played for a few hours, sun came up, everybody went and slept somewhere. We played alot of Smash then, I think, which was fun but we were drunk as hell. Had a few ffas earlier today, where we're not drunk, and it was quite fun.

I can't see this having the staying power with my that Melee had though. Not sure why, it's just not the same feeling.

Haha, you're perfectly entitled to your own opinion. It's wierd though because those who don't like the series or don't play them much talk about how they're too similar and yet people who play the game a lot are complaining about how different it is to melee.

To be fair, the first stage on Castle Siege in particular was awful, and there were a few spikes in other matches, but it wasn't laggy when you were FSing.

I would've gone for the 3rd one but I would've felt mean...
