What is your take on Porn? For it, against it?


I am for it. It's a great way to boost the economy. The porn industry grosses about 3 billion dollars a year. Think of the jobs it's creating. Some guy has to package all those big booty 9 tapes into boxes so guys can sit at home and wank off. There's a lot of "let's stop porn" websites, groups out there. and I say "why? Why would you stop something someone else is interested in?" Would you want me to stop all quilting classes. I personally think those are stupid, and a waste of time. Want me to start up a cult against quilts?

I know that is alittle off the wall, but it's a compelling arguement. I know their head arguement is that is objectifies women. But did anyone ever stop to think that maybe the girls actually want to save sex, and turn a profit? Is it beyond their minds to actually meet with porn stars and talk to them one on one to see what they think? I bet that would change a lot of opinions in a matter of minutes.

Anyways, I want a serious debate about porn and it's affilates. Share your thoughts, your experiences and ideals. Maybe even dreams

i have a feeling you have no life. but thats ok. im all for porn myself as well. i saw a video the other day about "porn and pancakes" i was like wtf? but alas it's a breakfast for porn addicts to help them give up porn. here i was all ready for a pancake sex fest and i get news. but it was started by www.xxxchurch.com trying to rid the world of porn. i agree with your quilting theory.

Anyway, I'm for porn, though I don't view it myself. Porn is a great way for a kid to basically learn all you need to know about sex, without those boring ass Health classes. In fact, I don't think my health class even COVERED sexual reproduction. It went along the lines of...

"Don't have sex. You'll get STDs or Pregnant. Sex is BAD!"

They never showed us how to use a condom correctly, never explained sexual reproduction along the lines of what is correct and what is incorrect - because I bet someone wants to give it up the pooper without thinking about the physical damage it can do.

So, I think porn is good for informing the masses. It's up to the parents, or the kids that know how to use google search, to know when is the right time.

No, I do not watch it/use it, but it's not even the point!
If people find it entertaining, I really cannot see the point in being anti-porn.
The reason I don't watch these - is mostly because it's not interesting/hot/ZOMG!/etc. in my opinion, and basically because I can't see the point in watching porn. It doesn't 'turn me on' or anything.
But yeah, I'm all for porn.

I'm 100% against the porn industry. Teaches men and women to see woman and men as sex objects, and it gives twisted views on how to have sex.

I could rant on for ages, but the main reason why non-religious people are against porn, like feminists, is because porn actresses are often drug addicts, and treated like shit behind the camera, or even on the camera. For the exceptions, which I'm sure people will soon inform me of, all the other points still apply.

Our society is way too sex-centered. Fuck porn. Pun intended.

Yes, I think porn can be dangerous, and no one should really deny that, but what I hate is how certain western cultures have but amazingly strict censorships on anything where some skin is shown. There is a difference between pornography and eroticism.

I agree that porn isn't very educating. (Well, you get my point...)

Nope, in fact it might be good for those people. It's a complicated issue, which is the exact reason why I don't think banning porn and whatever will change anything for the better. It's an effect of the modern view of sexuality as a whole, which has been pushed by porn.

A lot of fundies and feminists etc who see the same problems, try to solve these problems with simple solutions, and I think they would all fail. I recognize the problems, and I have no idea how we would ever solve them, except from person to person.
