Here are a few of my favorites.

Fight Club - Great book, Great Movie. With twists and turns that really through you through a cynical reality. Great stuff.

Adaptation - What can you say about a movie that's plot is about the writer writing the script for the movie you are currently watching and how the movie is shaped depending on who is writing it. It's brilliance in a weird narcissistic way.

Old Boy - Great idea that was thrown into a trippy, yet shocking korean setting.

Everything Is Illuminated - one of the most funny and sad movies combined. Nothing says awesome than dated American fads put to the backdrop of post-Soviet-Union-Ukraine. Mix into that also the holocaust and you have a truly gripping and entertaining movie. Not to mention the killer sound track worth owning.

These are just a few. I am sure I will put more out there later.

American History X, or Shawshank Redemption.

Both films contain prison rape, and that's why they're the best.

Freddy Got Fingered. That movie was the quintessential anti-film. And it somehow managed to be a financially successful production, despite getting some of the worst reviews in the history of cinema. You've gotta respect that.

Best movie EVER... impossible, so here's a list:

Schindler's List - One of the most powerful and provocative films ever
Oldboy - One of the greatest vengeance films ever, Park-chan Wook is a genius
Diving Bell and the Butterfly - Based on the life of a "normal" man who conquered the impossible a "true assertion of the human spirit"
Shawshank Redemption - Why not?
Pan's Labyrinth - One of the best modern fantasy's
Spirited Away - Studio Ghibli woo!
Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford - One of the most underated films, ever
Meet Joe Black - If you haven't watched it to death then you'll agree, one of the best romance films ever
Basically all Asian Extreme films - One Night in Mongkok, Lady Vengeance, Sympathy for Mr Vengeance, Three Extremes, Infernal Affairs, etc
The Orphanage - What horror should be
Pulp Fiction - "Bad Motherf****r"
Amelie - pure imagination
The Kite Runner - Behind its rather poor trailer it is a superb tale
Star Wars - Just YES
Godfather - Don't you dare disrespect it
Forest Gump - Behind it's overused taglines is a very special and classic story
Road to Perdition - One of the best gangster films and one of the best father-and-son films, thats two halfs which makes a whole so icon_smile.gif

I'll stop there, though there are a LOT more films that whilst not recognisable as thee best, certainly deserve credit for being FANTASTIC

I'd have to say The Fifth Element, would be my all-time favourite. The story, the props, the effects, just love it all.

Close seconds would be Star Wars Episode VI, Blade Runner and Serenity.

EDIT: Can't believe I forgot 2001: A Space Odyssey!

Fucking, BACK TO THE FUTURE... BITCHIES!!

Back to the future trilogy is like the best thing that has ever graced your screen. And if you haven't seen these movies you are either just hitting puberty or you're a loser.

Do yourself a fav, go watch them. Back to the future 1 is the best, possibly 2. 3 is just meh.. But the whole trilogy is aamaaziinnss

.....

Then of course, Star Wars movies and fifth element is always a good one. Oh forgot to add - Der Untergang

Hmm yes Star Wars are up there. What about Indiana Jones? It's so unrealisticly violent that its got to be awesome. Plus Harrison Ford, how can you go wrong?

That movie was the quintessential anti-film.

Stop being pretentious. In terms of writing and production, it was anything but.

Theres one movie that really stood out among the rest for me.

Blood Diamonds.

We watched it in school, I was glued to the screen. It was just so amazing. It's probably my favorite movie, the other one is Waynes World, but Blood Diamonds beats that because of how moving it is.

Sorry Blackened man, i'm well confused:

Do you mean Blood Diamond, the film with Leonardo DiCaprio and Djimon Hounsou?

Coz i don't want to sound ignorant when i say "Yeah, totally agreed: that film was fucking sick!" when you might actually mean some docufilm called Blood Diamonds which i have no knowledge of.
