There is no city near where that light was, or at least I think.

I doubt it would be a spotlight, because near the ground, there is a lot of light in a large area.

Can't be a fire, because a beam of light wouldn't go up from it into the sky.

Reminds one time this summer, i saw these two red dots jumping around the sky, and they went thousands of Km at a time i watch them for 4 hours then fell alseep. I was scared at the time i thought the aliens would eat me.
