The M-Audio that was suggested here would be small enough.

my mom looks at her credit card crap so she'd notice..
im gonna try and chop the metal thing on the tip ( the thing that goes at the end of the case.. usually a hole to put a screw there to keep it steady) of the my audigy SE and see if it will fit.

Wont that void the warranty?

They're not that expensive.
Consider this thread trolled.

Depends on your definition of expensive, especially since it's replacing a service already fulfilled by the motherboard for free.

No, $75 was the budget that the card had to fit into.
$40 for an Audigy 4, wich was bought.
Then it didn't fit, and a $20 Audigy SE card was taken from somewhere to fit into the PC.
Nice and cheap birthday gift, and the Audigy 4 can go into the threadstarter's own machine
Just hook me up to the internet, 1000 Megabits per second, IV push. It'll feel like home...

I did read the rest of the topic and I suggested the X-Fi because its excellent for music. It might be a little more than you want to spend, but its a very good card overall and might be worth it to get your mother
EDIT: I found one that is in your price range: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?sk...d=1156203598151
I'm only trying to help

This is exactly what has been going on through the entire thread, and it's not the first time either.
You come to us for advice..you just spell out what you want to get, and then ask us if it is okay, and we have to explain why it isn't. That's the world upside down.. If you would just say 'hey guys, I have an X amount of money, what should I buy?' Then this would be over in 2-3 posts, not 2-3 pages.

Every time someone goes against Weiman's sig I feel like they should be bludgeoned for a few minutes in the head to feel the headache I feel when I realize someone really IS that dense.
