so after reading the replies etc, no one can really help me?
hmmm stabhappy what routers do you recommend for sharing a net connection, torrenting, msn and irc lol
only need 2 pc's connected.. 1 wireless and 1 wired..

belkin: grandma had one, complete crap, smells like burning plastic and her laptop would not connect to it, nor my DS (lawl)

the belkin was probably a DOA (which belkin replace for FREE with their FREE lifetime warranty) or you just wern't giving it it enough ventilation.
unfortunatly the chances of the linksys signal reaching that far is almost impossible it was probably just his laptop's network cache.

My first suggestion would be to try turning off encryption, to be honest. Beyond that, DMZing should not shut down your connection. Are you running anything else on this?
