Tbh I prefer playing support, and not just because I have more bullets or a better rate of fire, either. I'm usually more accurate with an RPK than I am with an AK. Besides, there are usually so many medics running around that a support guy can get a lot of ammo points pp_smiley2.gif

You shou;d try using the BF2Pro mod. Right now, the clan leaders in CAL-M are voting on whether or not to use it in Season 4 or not, and maybe the Open division will get it, as well. BF2Pro makes Support guns as accurate as sniper rifles, even when standing up. It makes it so the M16 can actually HIT things. It changes a bunch of cool stuff. It was created by Ginc of 20ID (who is also on the CAL staff). The thing is, with patch 1.4 taking away prone spamming (which is great because there will be no more people ducking and standing up really fast behind cover so you can't see them but they can kill you), they're adding a delay from when yo can shoot when you change positions. So if you went from crouching to standing up, you couldn't fire your weapon for about 2 seconds. The best way to remove prone spamming is to add a firing delay from when you go prone from standing up.
