7600GT or 7800GS.

The GS would be better performance wise, 7600GT pricewise. You will probably need a new power supply too.

Watts have little to do with PSU performance. There's the 7600GT in AGP form, and ATI is coming out with a x1950pro in AGP if you don't mind spending a little over $200 for it. Sucks you have s478 and DDR, otherwise I'd recommend a new mobo and a PCIe card.

Do you know the date when the x1950 pro is coming out? And if my pc could handle it?

Looks like a HT processor... you'll need to overclock it to get the best performance out of the new card, but you won't need too much extra..

Yes, its HT.

By handle it, i mean could my PC support the card. For example, do i need a new PSU?

Watts aren't a measure of current.

By the way, I've seen a 7800gs run on a 300watt power supply with 10amps on the 12v rail.

Anyways,

So long as you have decent amperage on your +12v rail, you should be fine. And by decent I mean at LEAST LEAST LEAST 18.

yeah, your comp will last maybe 2 more years, so i'd actually suggest getting an AGP card, which I usuially don't do. so yeah. get like a 7600 for AGP. I wouldnt spend too much in an AGP card. I dont like agp.

yeah, and check your psu. what brand is it and what amps on 12v rail?

Thats me <D:

Might as well as get the 7600 for right meow cause god knows when DX10 cards will be coming out in APG or even if they do...

Plus the 7600 will play all the latest DX9 games, kinda weird for me to say that DX9 games are virtually dead now,but really after the 7600 you should scrap that system, and use it as a back up or something cause thats almost ancient
