Here we go, I have been wanting to discuss this all day,

Here I am replaying Final Fantasy 8 and it leads me to think that it is truly the most underrated Final Fantasy games out there. Not only is it a decent story line full of twists and turns but it is also the only Final Fantasy, and please tell me if I am wrong about this, that is fully customizable. With the junction system, you can give any player any stat, whether is be shit ton of health, full speed, fully resistant to and/or can absorb any element out there. Very early in the game if you work with the GF learning abilities and refining properly you can be nearly unstoppable for a good half of the game.

Omfg, thank you.

I feel exactly the same way, Final Fantasy 8 is one of my all time favorite games.

About a Final Fantasy X movie, I would defiantly want to see one.. If it could be done icon_confused.gif

If you managed to force your self through Charlies Angels X-2, you would know that all of spira was united.. There is no more conflict among people.. Tidus Is brought back, but as far as we know he is still a dream.. Its hinted at that Tidus and Yuna aren't going to "Hook Up" But they will cherish each other instead. So unless they throw in some sort of needless conflict such as some cult trying to rise to power or something.. I don't think there is a whole lot to base a Final Fantasy X movie off of.

I would like to See a Final Fantasy 8 Movie.. But, again.. I think that one was wrapped up nicely to, although It would probably be easier to make a movie out of that one as the storyline hasn't been advanced more then the original game.

But then, instead of making a movie sequel, maybe make a final fantasy 8 movie retelling the original game on its anniversary or something?!

One thing about XII was there was barely any character development. Why did Fran leave her home? Why did Balthier become a pirate? What happened to Basch's hometown?

As far as main story goes, it was very decent, but you need side stories to complete the game as a whole!

Tbh, Do any of you think there will ever be another Final Fantasy Movie?

And if there is.. Will it be its own thing, or a movie based on one of the games? icon_surprised.gif

i reckon it'll be better if a completely new story was written up for a movie.

Go play FF8, and there should be absolutely no way you can say that same sentence.

I liked:

FFIV
FFVI
FFVII (even though it's HIGHLY over rated)
FVIII (my favourite)
FFX

VI is obviously the best. A little rough getting into it, but it really is the best.

I just think people push Final Fantasy VII as the best one FAR too much. It wasn't even THAT great.

I really think VIII is my fav. because it had better development of characters, better FMVs, and I really liked the Junction System. The down side was the constant summoning and the fact that I had to keep drawing stupid magic.

FFX was just....good.

I think XII was a big mistake. It was different and refreshing...but a lot of it was TOO different. It's like a completely different franchise. Good RPG, bad Final Fantasy imo.

You sir have just won the internet and have stated pure fact, you're also now my new best friend.

Regretably I have only played the new Final Fantasy games, because I'm always hearing how great the old FF games are. I've played FFX, FFX-2, FFXII, FFVII Crisis Core, FF Tactics PSP, FF Tactics Advanced, FFIII DS, FFI GBA, FFII GBA, and I started FFVI GBA. Personally I can't complain about any of them, mainly because I've been addicted to FF since I first played X. My favorites would hve to be FFX and FFVII Crisis Core because of the great story lines.

Does anybody know when FFXIII is coming out because the wait is getting unbearable. pp_smiley5.gif

One more thing, just to put this out there FFIV is coming to the DS, in the US, July 22, 2008. pp_smiley2.gif

Edit: I have FF XII Revenent Wings now.
Auron: Now! This is it! Now is the time to choose! Die and be free of pain or live and fight your sorrow! Now is the time to shape your stories! Your fate is in your hands!

Agreed. No other FF had the sheer amount of characters, epic storylines (KEFKA CHANGED THE FACE OF THE EARTH !) The various shades of good, evil. (The opera scene is a classic and will forever be one of my favourites) that 6 possessed.

Not to mention i do think it is Nobuo Uematsu's finest piece of work to date.

FFI - Know your roots!
FFII - This was the first of the FF series to actually bring character development to the table. By removing the customization of the main characters, Square sucessfully began a great trend of storytelling and character dev. Plus this is the first game to feature chocobos
FFIII - An even further improvement from two, we still have the old standby (crystals) and the story just works
FFIV - Here is where Square really begins to shine in terms of Storyline. I remember actually being sad when members of my party began sacrificing themselves for the greater good
FFV - A boy and his Choco
FFVI - Bringing a lil' anti-racism to the table on this one (she wasnt full human)
FFVII - It was ok, but not as good as everyone makes it out to be. It could have been alot better
FFVIII - Personally my favorite out of all of the games. I think what made me like VIII so much was that it seemed that this was a viable, not-so-distant future for Earth. I think they should revamp VIII for the 360 or ps3 just for the sake of making an already aweosome game just that much more awesome. I think there is a special connection made when the characters look like they could be as real as the gamer. It gives an entirely new level of immersion.
FFX - Pulling in a close second. I loved the voiceovers and the story line. The main character's stupidity could have been toned down a bit, but other than that, awesome game
FFX-2 - .../sigh, no comment
FFXI - I play it, but I need more ppl to play it with. Square went a bit too far with the whole multiplayer aspect. It is honestly unplayable without other party members, and when you live in a town of 4k people, it is a bit hard to find other players you know. It's speed could have been ratcheted up a bit, I think that as well as the lack of blatant grinding quests is what makes FFXI second to WoW in the MMORPG scene.
FFXII - Final Fantasy + Star Wars, what's not to like?
FFXIII - CAN'T WAIT!!!

As for the music: One word: Spectacular!

FF3/6 Kefka as being the only one that succeeds in world domination and winning.

Not to mention his character is the best in villan history. Like his laugh for example xD

You = Me.

8 favorite, X close Second
Didn't like 7 as much as everyone else did.

Playing X again.. Goddamn this game is so much easier if you put aside 3 hours and just fight monsters lol.. I'm near Jecht now and I still haven't died nor have I been close on any boss battle.
