Ok i am now in the prosesses of OCing my AMD X2 3800 dual core and ive got it from 2.0 ghz(stock) to 2.15 ghz. It's idle is now like 30 degrees C. I want to try and get it to like 2.3 or 2.4 but i am wondering if that is safe.

The only real thing taht can damage you CPU physically is raising the Vcore, though you can fuck up your windows quite royally with overclocking for some reason.

This is exactly what has been going on through the entire thread, and it's not the first time either.
You come to us for advice..you just spell out what you want to get, and then ask us if it is okay, and we have to explain why it isn't. That's the world upside down.. If you would just say 'hey guys, I have an X amount of money, what should I buy?' Then this would be over in 2-3 posts, not 2-3 pages.

Every time someone goes against Weiman's sig I feel like they should be bludgeoned for a few minutes in the head to feel the headache I feel when I realize someone really IS that dense.

Your idle is fine. Keep load temps under 55C, though I believe the X2s have a threshold of 60C. Under 55C to play it safe.

O'rly?
Have you seen the tomshardware movie when they removed the coolers from CPUs, the temps of 200C+ melted the silicon completely. Something tells me that damage weren't due soley to voltage. Sure that's an extreme case but it demonstrated temperature can also kill a CPU very effectively without a voltage increase.
Have you tried turning it off and on again?

Wasn't that vid like...5 years old?
What i mean with only increasing the vcore can damage your cpu is that it's the only thing he can do that'll damage the CPU since the reult of that is an temperature increase.
