1. Get some Grunge Brushes, Try somewhere like Deviantart, or googling "Photoshop Brushes" or "Grunge Brushes" I dont know where I got the one's I'll be using, so yours wont turn out exactly the same.
2. Make a new image, If you dont know how to do that, You need to take more time to farmiliarize yourself with Photoshop. I'd make it around 400x100, for these Forums. Or you can go for a full, 500x100, which I think, is the maximum. Either that, or 400x100. Check before attempting.
3. Color the background Black. I dont care how you do it, Paint Bucket, Edit>Fill, Whatever you want.
4. Select your grunge Brushes. If you really want, I'll zip up the brushes I'm using, and send them to you.
5. Now start to put them there in White. ONLY Use White. This produces the best result. No matter what color you want your sig, White White White.
6. Once your done, and content, Create a new layer.
7. Okay, now you Fill your image up with *Insert Color Here* For those who want multi color images, Make it a gradient between the two. Just set the two colors you want as your main and secondary colors, Use your Gradient Tool, And BAM.
8. Now you may ask, "Wait, its just a big *Insert Color(s) Here* Thing. Heres the part thats a big factor. Go into the Blending modes of the layer. Whichever blending mode you choose to use, is fine, But I suggest "Overlay", "Soft Light" or "Color". For this, I'm using a Gradient with Soft Light.
9. Now your background is set. Choose whatever you want in the sig. For this tut, I'm going with Jasmin Wagner (Blumchen). There are lots of Renders at Gamerenders.com, But I usually just Go into the Polygonal Lasso tool, Set the Feather to 10ish, Then go around the outside of what I'm trying to cut out. If your doing a Girl, you might wanna stop and do a little something. You know what I'm talking about.
10. After you've put them in, Its time for the border. I always make a new layer, then select it, Edit>Stroke, Set it to 2-4 PX, White, On the INSIDE. Then, on the same layer, select what you just made with the magic wand. So, select the white, Then Edit>Stroke Make it 1 PX, Black, on the OUTSIDE. Then either set the Opacity to 50ish, or set the Blending mode to Overlay.
11. Now for the text. If you dont have custom fonts, You might want some, but if you do, find something that you think fits, And put it in. I usually dont add any Border Effects. I usually just make it white, and set the Opacity down to 50ish, or overlay.
Your Pretty much done! The next step is optional. Hell, all of the steps were.
12. Okay, this is optional. You can add a pattern, like Scanlines, or Boxes. If you dont know shit about patterns, I cant really help you. Cause I dont know much about em either. But I do know how to use them.
New Layer. Edit>Fill, Use=Pattern Select whichever pattern you want. Set the opacity down to whatever you like. I'd suggest 10.
NOW your done. My result,

Any questions, I will gladly answer.
