My ebgames hired some mexican girl that knows NOTHING about games. I went to pre-order city of villains and she asked what console it was for, I said its a PC game. She then looked at me and said "PC?" and i said "Yes, Microsoft windows Game" and she said "OOOOoOoh you mean Xbox" I nearly died, i couldn't belive there were dumbass people like this in the world, even more dumbass people working in a gaming store.

@ Blighted: you should have made him go to storage. Also, the guy might have been new to the store and might not have know about the display case.. but the possibility that he was just a jack ass is much higher.

After reading this thread, I'm realizing how fortunate I am that my local EB only hires actual gamers with a good knowledge of gaming.

It really reminds me though of how literally the dumbest girl I know got hired at Tim Hortons by going in and literally just asking "Can I have a job?". What's worse it a friend of mine applied to the same Tim Hortons properly less than a week before that and was told they weren't hiring for a while.

The saddest part about this is that there are hundreds of unemployed gamers who would bend over backwards to do this job really well... but employers always go for the guy who turns up in the best looking suit, or the girl who has the nicest breasts. Every time.

But on topic, nice rant. People who work behind counters have a shitty time, and tend to enjoy making our lives miserable. I'd proberbly end up doing it too, tbh.

qft... me, and like 5 of my friends applied for jobs at EBs and gamestops all over, none of us got a job... All of us knew more than half of the people that work there... every time I go there and they start trying to explain to me why some game is good I can't help but think, "dude, don't even try to explain it to me, I know more about this game than you know about being reamed in the ass by your manager."

To get jobs at electronics stores, you have to have connections with the owner, as friends or family, seriously. All the employees at my local EB are all university mates.

shouldn't be a let down, people in retail aren't paid enough to care. I'd say go to the competition who actually has it in stock and price match it.

at th eb stores ive been to all th dudes seem to know wot they on about n theyre always keen to help. (maybe theyve already received the clothes rack treatment as a warning).
