This is exactly what has been going on through the entire thread, and it's not the first time either.
You come to us for advice..you just spell out what you want to get, and then ask us if it is okay, and we have to explain why it isn't. That's the world upside down.. If you would just say 'hey guys, I have an X amount of money, what should I buy?' Then this would be over in 2-3 posts, not 2-3 pages.

Every time someone goes against Weiman's sig I feel like they should be bludgeoned for a few minutes in the head to feel the headache I feel when I realize someone really IS that dense.

holy shit dude, i think i'm using that motherboard.
it's like 4 regular ddr, no sata hard-drives, and agp8x with like 4 or 5 pci slots.
never had much of a problem with this computer except a few constant blue screen crashes. though that may be due to the heat. Otherwise yeah, it's pretty damn good. Unlike the other asus motherboard I have with pci-e and shit.
if you're using intel, go for intel motherboards =/ learned that the hard way.
as for me, i learned some easier ways of recording and editing tv shows.

well I learned how to DL and convert a google vid to AVI format.
1) Download + install Google video Player
2) Download + install Virtual Dub
3) Download your movie of choice as the GVP file (choose "manually dl this file")
4) Open google video player, go to "File --> Preferances" and choose a location to save incomming files
5) Open your GVP file in google video player. It will begin buffering. Let it do its thing (you dont need to watch it as it goes along)
6) When buffering is complete, browse to the location you chose in step (4). You should see your vid sitting there in GVI format. On your PC, you can now watch it on your rig. For converting to AVI to do further things, read on...
NB: There may be a sly way to steal the buffered file from the site without installing google vid (possibly stored in your temporary files somewhere) but im not sure.
--------------------------------------------------------------
7) Open Virtual Dub. Go to the "Video" and "Audio" menus respectivly, and make sure "Direct Stream" options are selected in both.
Go to "File --> Open" and make sure the file type is "Any". Browse to the location of your GVI file and open it up.
9) Finally, go back to the File menu, and save as AVI. It will take about 2 mins or so.
GRATZ! your google vid is now in AVI format! You can now do all the things with it you would normally do with any other AVI file including applying compression; ripping out to stand-alone DVD format etcetc.
