People call each other n00bs, and some people don't deserve that title. Some people may have a low post count or may suck at games, but what is your definition of n00b? My definition is here:

n.

1) A person who is new to a game
2) A person who, regardless of experience, lacks the skill or copmetence to be competitive in a certain game
3) Someone who tends to whine or complain when being beaten at a game - often done by accussing more skilled opponents of hacking
4) One who may talk trash, claiming to be elite at a game, only to be beaten down by a better player, or will turn down any games when challenged by better players.

Let's thank Urban Dictionary for that definition. The main focus here is the word "game". Some people take the word "n00b" and associate it with the word "jerk". A jerk is:

A foolish, rude or contemptible person.

Once again, I thank Urban Dictionary. A jerk is associated more with being rude in life than sucking in a game. So, do you see the difference?

To me, what makes a n00b is not their behavior, just their skill in gaming, like the word is intended to mean. A jerk is someone who flames you on the forum and makes fun of you/ well, is a foolish, rude or contemptible person. So next time you go to post that word "n00b", think a little about how you're using it versus the proper use.

I think you pretty much made the definition yourself there. A n00b is someone who pretends to be pr0, shows how stupid they are in public and just gets flamed. I love n00bs cause they sometimes make life that much better.

Do you seriously want to know what the word "noob" means?

Well, you have what "we" (the geeks if you want) call it , it means someone who is not as good as "me" (the person speaking). Because, i see that everyone says noob. Way to much, also. Noob is really a stupid word. I have yet to see it in a legit dictionary, and ive started seeing people who call people noob, is stupid people. But then im kinda calling them noobs again. Damnit. Well, the point is that this thread is useless, as we all know what a noob is, put as the gamers (mostly) use.

Webster's: doesn't know it
Urban Dictionary: doesn't know it.
Google: knows it! It's on the legislative branch of the USA's website as an Adobe File...Check it out.
Wikipedia: doesn't know it. So, it might not exist.

The word n00b doesnt technically exist, its made by "us" gamers. You cant really define it. The reason we all know what it means is like self learning if you will, like when we are infants and learn english. Pretty much exactly the same.

Sorry Demonic, the threads point faded away in the light of your brianpic spamming.

But seriously, my definition of noob is, well, what you said! Wait for more to answer before you get angry at us for not agreeing. icon_smile.gif

n00b -

Somebody who fails to see that (s)he fails at an activity, be it a game, a convosation/topic, or just life in general.

eg1: Brian (brian.png) gets completly dominated in a game by everyone he plays. He fails at the game, and is therefore a n00b.

eg2: Brian (remember, thats - brian.png) attempts to pull a h4wt chick. the h4wt chick slaps him round the face, resulting in the following expression: brian.png

brain fails at pulling h4wt chicks, and therefore is a n00b.

eg3: As above, but this time Brian (still talking about brian.png) attempts to pull an ugly chick. Result is still the same, therefore he fails at pulling ugly chicks, and therefore is still a n00b.

eg4: Going back to Brian for a moment (if you remember right, thats this guy: brian.png), this time Brian attempts to make himself famous by pulling some fuck-off face (a bit like this: brian.png) while a guy named Kyle from a show called Pure Pwnage was filming. His plan back-fired, and now Brians face is all over the interweb, along with a being called an utterly rediculous name that is probably nothing even close to his real one. Brian's original attempt to become famous failed (although Brian is still famous, it's for the wrong reasons) he is therefore a n00b.

I hope that clears things up icon_wink.gif

This is exactly what has been going on through the entire thread, and it's not the first time either.
You come to us for advice..you just spell out what you want to get, and then ask us if it is okay, and we have to explain why it isn't. That's the world upside down.. If you would just say 'hey guys, I have an X amount of money, what should I buy?' Then this would be over in 2-3 posts, not 2-3 pages.
