I dont know why, but i want to go SLI. I heard SLI is overkill but at least it'll last me a while. should i take the 7900GTX, and put in 2 X 7900 GT ? icon_neutral.gif

with some resaerch GeForce 7 series will be compatible with DX10, it'd be like 8.1 to 9.0 on some cards today. Im not 100% sure, but ive heard. And if U would need a new vid card for DX10, why would Nvidia release the 7900 GTX? and ATi X1900XTX?

If I were you I'd get an AMD X2 4400 or a 4800 cause I'm not certain but I think opterons are mostly used for workstations on animations and graphics. I'd at least get a 75GB raptor cause after you install needed windows files you'll have like 10GB left. I'd also think about getting an asus motherboard but that's only because I think they are the best, I have never seen or heard of DFI much but hey it probley will be decent. This is just personal preference but I'd get a ATI Radeion x1900xtx

alright i updated the processor, and the hard drive, does this look better to u ? And i herd that opterons are really good for gaming too, NCIX forums said i might as well get a opteron 165 and o/c to 2.7 Ghz, and the opteron 170 can be easily o/c'ed to 3.0 ghz

BF2 = THE BEST GAME CURRENTLY AVAILABLE!

I play on max settings (except lighting on medium, because turning that on max makes me LAAAAAAAAAG because of my lack of enough RAM (I have 1GB)), 8xAA, 16xAF, 1280x1024 resolution.

FTW!

Wait for conroe which will be released in Q3 (not too ar away) it will own every processor currently out. Do u plan on overclocking? Because if you do opteron will be a better choice. Accoring to 1337cshackers tutorial the x1900 xtx performes better than the 7900.

Because they want money. No cards on the market currently support DX10. GF4Ti, for instance, was DX 8.1. It would run DX9 games, yes, but with no support for PS 2.0, or other hardware features of DX9.

Ye but i heard that you can get software emulatores, it will decrease ur performance by like 3 %, but it will enable you to play DX10 games

It's very difficult to say right now, but at the moment, no product like that exists.
