Chalk down another vote for Company of Heroes. The Opposing Forces expansion that just came out introduces a brand new level of pwnage. DX10 gfx to an already pwning RTS = even more pwning. Seriously I've been addicted to CoH since it came out and now Opposing Forces is taking what little amount of time from me that is left not playing CoH. The Panzer Elite army is awesome to play as. I highly recommend picking up the Exp. Pack if you love CoH.

I am short on cash i was thinking about getting C&C3 but that will leave me bankrupt until Hanukah and then i thought i would go get C&C generals so any thoughts should i splurg and get an uber game or just settle for the budget title?

(i currently have WC3FT and SC and Red alert 2)

How bout RA:1 or CnC original, hell the community might not be there, but cmon dude, They started it all, And not to mention, its mad fun sometimes to relive the past of Scrimming the AI because DIAL UP sucked hardcore for every game.

meh honestly i didn't like the old C&C games i mean RA2 started my RTS thing and then my friends lent me SC and then i got WCFT just not a fan of the classics i guess (exception being SC)

i beg to differ. i purchased the first decade with every CnC released and i cycled through all of them purely for nostalgias sake.
it brought a tear to my eye to see how far games and pwning in general has come.

I canne stand Company of Heroes. Go Dawn of War. Same Engine, Better game. More fun. Do i see bloodthirsters in Company of Heroes? I think not. Oh yeah, you need Dark Crusade too. Necrons are well worth it.

Also CnC Tiberium Wars. Scrin still make my pants moist when i see them.

I'm a freak, so I prefer horses too tanks, so Age of Empires II (with expansion) is my favorite, it's a perfect rts. WC3 is gay

I'm considering getting into RTS and was wondering whether World of Conflict would be a good game to get started on. Even though I've read it may not contain some of the elements that other RTS' do, I always found resource collecting draining anyway.

if i was to recommend liek a gd RTS i wud say liek age of empires 3 and its expansions but i would never reccomend WC3 and my bro has it and plays it, its like the noobiest RTS ive seen although its not even RTS

I've tried demos of Sup Com (slow), Age of Empires II (allright), Company of Heroes (no thanks), Command and Conquer 3 (race to build mammoth tank? Nty Granted there might be more depth but I didn't see it). Nothing has that fast Starcraft style that need.

Suggestions?

Try Sunage (demo should be released somewhen ), which will come out this friday I think, and keep an eye on Universe of War, which should come at the beginning of next year.

Dark reign or total annihilation. Both awesome games that still manage to put a lot of new rts to shame (lol C&C3 with it's whole 10 units)

i dont like warcraft, the battle are to small, starcraft for the win
and i know everyone is like ZOMG GENERALS ZH WTFBBQLOLOLOL! but it is an amazing game so yeah...pick it up any way you can, save your pennies kids
and age of empires is fun but i like blowing the S*** outta stuff, yay tanks go boom

Company of Heroes is great. I play a lot of other games, so I don't have enough time to get good at a game like Starcraft, but CoH is a bit easier, and still a huge amount of fun. The expansion is pretty fucking good as well.

It's fairly unbalanced at the moment (Panzer Elite are OP) but the exp. just came out, and they patch fairly often, so it will be fixed.

If anyone picks the game up, let me know. I'd love to find some more people to play with. My Xfire is Piratey.

I highly recommend this one.
