It's pretty self-explanatory. Please be patient until I can find the article, im watching it on the news now. A 14 year old girl was found dead after posting something online about meeting the person. Alot of parents are forcing their kids to delete profiles. How do you guys feel about this?

Do you know any more info at this point? Like, was it a suicide or a murder? Either way, it's just stupid. It's like killing someone over a cloudsong. Is someone's life really worth the price of a cloudsong? Maybe a severe beating, but not their life. If it was a suicide, then haha, stupide emo! Nobody loves you! Thanks for killing yourself, but no thanks for your one last attempt to get attention. Apparently, that won't help heal your wounds...your dead. K?

Ridiculous. Personally, I don't get the MySpace fad (I didn't get the instant-messaging thing, either), but just about anybody should know that's a bad idea.

didn't her parents say not to talk to strangers? when somebody on the internet that you don't know asks you a meet them its kinda obvious that you shouldn't

Why should other people - who weren't even involved - be guitly for that?
I mean, the other users there maybe never heard of that boy / girl. So why should it be dangerous for anyone now? They must now on their own, who to tell things. I would never tell someone my adress or such. I have to know them better though, but I never met someone I would give my adress.
It was a bad thing, right. But it's the parents thing to decide what their children are watching on their bandwith.
It's a weird situation. The parents should decide what is right for their (young) kids.

i hate to take the parental side of this but there are a lot of creeps on myspace. The other day i saw an article on the news where this police officer was on myspace posing as a 15 year old girl. Within days he had offers for sex, guys wanting her cellular, wanting to meet up, you name it.

I have no idea why people take MySpace so seriously, some people consider it as a big part of their life.
I use it to talk to friends, PP members, WoW players and a few WoW groups.
It really is a shame that people kill themselves and post bulletins announcing this on not only MySpace, but a few other profile sites.
I remember about last year when I used to have a VampireFreaks account, I went onto this girls profile and looked at her pictures.. she actually carved "MySpace <3" into her arm with a knife, it's disgusting.
But yeah, I'm rambling on... it's a shame.

LOL
my sister <3 vampirefreaks.
She´s emo btw.
but yeah i don´t get it either.
befrore she was emo she would every 5 mins go check her account on a myspace rip-off site called rate.
what is the point of looking at someone´s pic and wanking off on it and giving it 5/5

Yea the same thing happens on chatrooms, if you don't have that common sense the internet CAN be dangerous.

the rest of the emos should follow her example.

If EA was a parent, social services would have arrested it.

k, as far as meeting people in RL versus online, you have a risk either way. I mean, we are all meeting online, and we might all get to see each other at the premieres and stuff. It doesn't mean anyone there is going to rape and kill you. Especially if you've known someone online for a real long time, seen pictures of them, and can see how they're RL is going. If it was just like "Hi, I'm Brian Peppers. Want some candy in my van?", then that is different. It's just a risk of social life in general. You never know who you might run into. If it truly such a social risk, then who is bringing their Dungeons and Dragons Mace with them to the premiere? We all know Geof makes Doomsday devices, so he could like blow up the world or something. LOL! Really, if we are ever going to get a long in the world, then you have to have faith that people are generally good people. Otherwise, Hobbes wins and we're fucked! K?

I believe you are getting confused and jumping the gun here. This was a MURDER, not a suicide (least thats how it looks).

I totally agree. It's ok for us blokes, but girls should be way more cautious about this sort of thing. There are ALOT of mentally disturbed fuckwits out there, and they are out for blood (literally!). This is nothing new, and im supprised anyone is still dumb enough to actually give out their (real... lol
Please keep us updated with this. Oh and what do you mean by "Another" killing? are there others (linked to this)?

Girl: "I have a right to defend myself as a woman! NO means NO!"
Brian: "Ah! What the hell!"
Girl: "Sry, I just came from that College Dating Seminar"

Lecturer: "Look to your left. Look to your right. Statistics show that both of those men are going to rape you."
Guy on Left: "I'm not going to rape you."
Guy on Right: "I might."
