I'm going to suggest Kingdom of Loathing. It's a free text-based MMO with a great player base and almost daily updates. Pretty big for something textbased and it's a great time waster.

Figured I'd throw igg.com out there. Sure there is pay services but as a waste of time I've been having fun playing Angels Online. The cool thing is there is no account restrictions so I even setup virtual desktops with 3 groups and have 11 accounts going at once to dick around with. That game comes with its own bot so I play, legally, while I'm afk also.

Maplestory is probaly the most popular MMO to ever exist. It's also free

It boasts over 49 million players World Wide, almost 5x the amount of subscribers that World of Warcraft boasts.

It's cute, 2D, and very great socially but it is somewhat of a grindfest. The learning curve is steep but once you are fairly experienced, you can easily reach level 50 in a day (The highest characters atm are Level 200 but you max out your character at Level 160)

Pretty fun TBH, but I am not much for grinding.

all o this mmo are nothing compare to RoW - return of warrior (hybryd ryl1 and ryl2)

all mmo have this stupid mouse mode its so slow action and u can play with ur balls like said jeremy about wow

on RoW u have [ wsad ] u can jump aim ppl lik in fps game its more dynamic then rest mmo.

i played on wow , guild wars , lineage , mu all of this game are too slow ... 0 action ... u dont need skill for aiming ppl and use skills u are just pressing [TAB] use skill and thats all

I have it installed, but haven't tried it out yet.

I'm waiting to try out Aion, but I don't think the next event is until Friday.

Still playing Battlefield Heroes Beta which I think anyone can get into pretty easily.

I've been playing requiem bloodymare recently; although not anytime soon; a few weeks ago though, and still installed on my laptop.
So far, it's pretty good, the early quests feels like grinding, but the monster killing and everything is still fun.

Although it is rated M cuz of the blood, and the monsters' limbs dismember when they die.

Give LaTale a try, as far as I know, I hated MapleStory but actually entertained with LaTale, not bad, same platform as Maplestory, but differences like pvp and stuff, just check it out if you want. In all honesty, its what you do and who you know ingame that makes the difference.

I've played MapleStory back in beta, and a little after official release.
I honestly didn't want to play after I got a level 20 rogue cuz it was a grindfest after that, and I decided to quit.
That was a few years ago back in grade 10, and I never went back to it again.
Silkroad I played during the second semester of grade 10, and I quit after not having a stable connection with any server.
So I stopped playing that too. I was at level 14, and was going to become a thief.

For now, I've found 2 good MMORPGs to stick to, and as of right now, grinding is minimal.
Runes of Magic is pretty fun, I have a level 10 Rogue Warrior.

Am also playing Requiem Bloodymare, which is pretty cool, and I'm a level 11 rogue.
i don't have any abilities right now because I didn't buy any, and double slash won't work with dual weapons.
And yes, your allowed dual swords in Requiem, which is something that stands out, but it's only for rogues and assassins and such.

Also these MMORPGs are free, so might as well try them if time is available.
And I usually find myself enjoying MMORPGs when I am DPS or Tank, both if possible, cuz ii like getting in the midst of it and doing damage.
And, for the 2 mmos i play, I only play on PvP servers.

I used to play Anarchy online for a few months, but that was ages ago, so it has probably gotten alot better now, here is the link. Anarchy Online

Isn't DDO out already? yes, the free version. I got my account set up, and client installed. The default controls were far to sensitive for me, but the controls adjustments were available.

I'd recommend Runes of Magic, DDO, and Requiem Bloodymare.
I think either RoM or RB, where the account reg was a bitch to do. Took me about 10-30 minutes to register an account, and many hours to download. But it was definately worth it. The three listed are probably the best 3 free mmo's currently available.

Looking at this now, really does look like maple, trying to find some screen shots of pvp then I might download!


Only mmorpg's that have ever got me to continue playing are

runescape
maplestory
rose online


Rest I've tried, but given up with quicker, such as endless online, silkroad, and many many more (can't think of the millions ive tried).
