W2l... I pre ordered socom confrontation to get into the beta. I pre ordered mgs4 to get into the beta for mgo. I pre ordered Warhawk to get into the beta. I pre ordered littlebigplanet to get into the beta. Pre ordering a game to get into a beta isn't paying anything extra to get a game early. Why? Because you still only pay 60 dollars to obtain the full game. If you find out that you do not like the game from the beta you have the ability to move that money away from that pre order and put it towards a different game. What if I don't like the bf3 premium shit? Can I get a refund? Can I take that premium and switch it for another game? Can I get my money back?

As for tf2.... I bought the orange box. Tf2 came free. I did see the weapon store for tf2 but were they uber powerful? They made your character more unique looking without adding that extra sense of dick slapping others because they had an extra powerful weapon that they paid extra for. In fact I get more kills with pyros flare gun than anything. I was also in the beta for crimecraft and I could not play it what so ever on my laptop back then. Then they made it free to play.

But the vibe I am getting from you is that you want me to buy Madden 2013 because you want your team of developers to show ea how stagnant they are with their games. I hope for the best for you and your team. I hope you make Madden 2013 really stand out from just being a football game. And cater to people who just love playing video games.

I still give ea a chance at every game I have somewhat of an interest in because I want to enjoy my games.

Some were definitely better. You'd have a stronger point if any of the guns that came with premium were the best guns in BF3, but generally they are all just different flavors of similar guns. A lot of the best guns in the game are unlocked relatively early.

I could care less if you buy Madden 13. I just think you're being ignorant and juvenile for hating a corporation who's biggest crime is making games you don't want to play. Having the jumping off point being that you haven't even played the game you hate in 10 years just makes it stupider.

Example

Sims 1 - Only has pets with expansion
Sims 2 - Has pets... only with an expansion... again?
Sims 3 - Once again, only has pets with an expansion

So they've made the same expansion 3 times and made the profit off Sims fans 3 times.
That's not the only feature they do that with, it's just the easiest to remember atm.

(FYI to anyone here who isn't W2l, EA has a contract with the companies whose asses they own that says none of their employees can badmouth them. Want proof? Just look at how badly the devs of BF3 and NFS defend EA's credibility, despite the fact they obviously have them on an extremely tight leash. I like and understand DLC packs. Paying to obtain them just a few weeks in advance does not do justice for me. If battlefield 3 didn't announce this milking idea and just released the expansion packs to everyone at the same time then I would have no issues with buying bf3.

And yes I say tf2 came with the box free because I bought it for half life 1, 2, episode 1&2, and portal. Then tf2 became a ten dollar separate buy like portal did. And the varying weapons don't do anything more thAN make your character look different. I also have not played tf2 for about 5 months..... (Lol)

As for you to say not to hate a company that says one thing but does the other, and continues to try and suck more money out of gamers pockets for ridiculous reasons, justifying their actions through dodge tactics and scapegoats from their own pr team.... Giving us smoke and mirror effects that should come with a package instead of a service.....

So don't play it. Your point, again, is essentially that a game you don't like to play, continues to not please you. I don't see why you should in any way be surprised by that, or why that should in any way incite hatred.

How is it milking? Premium costs less than buying the DLC on it's own. If Valve released a service that let you get expansion packs early and cheaper you'd probably have your head half way up their but massaging their sphincters with your tongue, so why be pissed at EA?

I still don't get why this is in any way a good reason to hate an entity. Their worst crime is making games you don't want to play. Do you not realize how childish a reason that is to hate something?

I was going to say this as well, but in a previous post he acknowledges that he knows the weapons do different things, so I think he might have fucked up.

You can't counter-argue the fact that Maxis fucks over Sims fans because they know the Sims demographic will shell out whatever they can for the same shit. It's like Facebook apps or something. But it's not entirely Maxis' fault as Maxis was releasing content somewhat fairly during the first Sims... EA just had them re-hash content and shit after they realized just how much $ they could make off the franchise.

You're saying that because I don't enjoy Sims games, I can't discuss problems with Sims games.
That would mean by your logic that a reviewer such as one of IGN's Your favourite review website I'd assume so this is my example can't talk poorly about a game if the reviewer doesn't like that genre of game.

That is simply incorrect. If you know how the basic principles of game design work, if you know how to tell when someone is being ripped off or not, if you know whether or not the content you are playing is worth what you are paying then you are completely obligated to have your own valid opinion on a game.

The Sims is a series with a great chunk of content. I'm not insulting the series (although it is mindlessly repetitive, which is why I don't like it... but I enjoyed WoW for a long time, which was ALSO mindlessly repetitive, so I can somewhat understand the appeal) I'm just saying that EA + Maxis scam their customers, outright. Sims fans don't point it out because Sims fans don't have the voices to raise. That's understandable, the Battlefield community as well as the CoD community have both had this problem at one point or another.

Is okay, and that Maxis couldn't have just included that exact feature in all 3 games (which are essentially all the same in the first place, just an increase in technology + slight features... which I don't agree with but I'm not even arguing about here) then you're either trolling or retarded.

Not that they never do, but usually it's pretty obvious that what drives IGN reviews is generally based off how much money they've recently unexpectedly found in their pockets.

The Sims I loved when it first came out. All of the expansion packs were awesome. Then the Sims 2 came out... I felt like I was playing the Sims 1 again only with special missions.... Then the same type of expansions came out for that game... Then Sims 3 came out and once again felt like playing the Sims 1 again... Then the same expansions came out for it again. And there is an online package for it....

How come PlayStation home hasn't spawned a sequel yet? Sure you don't eat or have to go to school or pay bills (wait scratch that we do rack up bills in this game rather fast...). But you are online. You have thousands of pieces of furniture to buy for your friends who never log in to home to see your pad.... They have a lot of awesome fucking pets to choose from and the thousands of combinations of clothing and accessories to play dress up with.... There is a brand new area in ps home every month for different games.... They constantly add new time wasters to enjoy.... It's basically the Sims online only you don't spill blue liquid or catch on fire in the most ridiculous manner.... How come ps home can do so much while the Sims only seems to see a lot of graphical updates when it truly doesn't need them?

That's why I hate this corner of ea. I replaced the Sims. Take it how you want. I either hate it or replace it. To me it is still the same outcome because I ignore one over the other.

But if you want to play the "stop the hate card....." Tell that to the hippies and the politics.

Talking to other people online and even having fun taking screenshots and playing quirky games as well as real casino games is a service and not a product? If it truly is Apple's to oranges then the orange is disguised as an Apple and the Apple is really an Orange.... Two very similar games. Two very similar services. One requires a monthly fee while the other just puts a fancy price tag on everything....

And yes an outright hatred. When it comes to human rationality is it truly just to kill say.... Saddam Hussein? There are a lot of people who, even after his death, garner a deep hatred for him. Even though it didn't affect them, they completely obliterated him and his image from this earth. There are people who hate that Justin beaver kid the same way they hate Hanson. They outright hate them. They will do what I do.... Ignore the fuck out of them and outright hate them. And if someone nearby is blasting it out of their speakers they squelch them for doing so. There are people who seriously believe they know the secret to gravity and won't tell you what they know, but they continue to bug the fuck out of you, while being vague and passive when you question them about their knowledge.. they tell you an answer that tries to get you to a. Stop asking for the secret... And b. Continue to believe them without asking any more questions about it.

Yes. It is a service, not a good. A good litmus test is that if Sony wanted to discontinue it you would have no rights of ownership to anything.

Yes. A guy who has repeatedly directly threatened your country and performed genocide deserves the same emotional response as a company that makes games you don't like. THAT MAKES TOTAL SENSE.

You say that like I think that's rational. I don't hate either Hanson or Justin Beiber. I hate some Justing Beiber fans because they are both ignorant and irrational, but I don't hate Justin Beiber because I'm not 12. I just avoid him and we get along fine that way.

The closest I've gotten would be "Hey There Delilah". I don't hate the plain white Ts, but I hate that song because it was overplayed and the summer it came out I had to listen to it 20 times a day at work and we weren't allowed to change the radio station. If I could have just avoided it I wouldn't hate the song, but nobody is forcing you to play Madden, The Sims, Need for Speed, or BF3.

Not if the reason you hate them is because of the quality of their games, especially games you have no intent of playing.

They don't affect your quality of life in any way. They don't affect the quality of life of anyone you care about directly. As far as I can tell the only person in this thread whose quality of life is actually affected by EA directly is me.
