game developers make games.
but game developers are made up of several groups of people. artists, programmers, designers, sound guys, level designers...and business people.
the business people are usually the ones in control and they are the ones who decide WHAT to make...
but they aren't the ones who make it. its the artists, programmers, designers, etc that make the games.
so, a game can be made for money (the business people choose the idea) but the people who actually make the game (artists programmers etc) can still pour their hearts in and make a good game.
for example: starcraft 2.

It's a good explanation but I don't know how to respond to what you're saying :/
It's kind of obvious.
Business people do the business stuff (make money)
Developers + Artists make stuff (they create)
Obviously the business people wouldn't be the ones to put their hearts and souls into the product.

The producers of Planetside sat around a table, rubbed hands and said 'Right.. let's make a fantastic, groundbreaking game'.
For Blizzard, a bunch of suits sat around a table, rubbed hands and said 'Right.. how can we make LOTS of money?'.

And I was suggesting that when it comes to Blizzard, there is ultimately little difference between suits and devs as all are compliant.

If you bought the game in the past and you've signed up for beta, you should be in on the 20th August.

Don't forget to sign up!
It is a re-imagining rather than the sequel I would have loved, but it is glorious.

It's relative. If you think it's worth it, it's worth it.
I wouldn't recommend buying it , though I did, for the other stuff.

MaxDamage speaks the truth. This game has been rocking my socks for a while now. I've been playing Terran Republic on Genudine (USWest) with forum members Thermington and Clubs in a massive Outfit, which adds a lot of value to the game all on its own (a lot like having a Guild in any MMO, I suppose).
Been spending most of my time outfitting my mossy. Can't say I'm much of a Liberator pilot, but gunning with a Dalton or Zephyr is fantastic. Glad they buffed the Shredder, though.
Best quick description I can give of this game is BF2142 on steriods, but it's much more than that.
Anyone maxed out their Flash yet? ![]()
