I haven't been on here for ages, I got submerged in some MMO for about 2 years and all sorts of things really. It's been about 5 years since I was talking to some members on here about upgrading my PC and it come to around £500 which I was quite pleased about.
Times have changed and I have just paid for a new upgrade on a completely whole new PC.
Would love your thoughts about it:

Love how the resident tough guy is happy to talk trash on an internet forum but back pedals as soon as he is called out. Typical coward. No doubt he'll respond to this with excessive bravado in order to restore his rightful place as a fully fledged internet badass.

Also.. how much did you pay for this? It's all good stuff.. would be overkill for the stuff that I do.

Briefly... lol.
I paid £2,000 for it. They told me it will arrive next week. I would never have thought about paying that much for a rig myself, but I am working full time now, I stopped driving because the only place I ever need to get to is London where my g/f lives and it's less than an hour train journey.
I'm still living with my rents paying rent and all for now, but to be honest, I really wanted a new upgrade and I am a 'Home Boy' lol and I am paying it off over 10 months, so I am happy with it

I hope it turns out to be a nice rig lol.
I saw many views about for gaming experience, people would be better off with i5 as opposed to i7. No idea about that, but then again I am not someone who upgrades over and over again. I admit that I didn't have to get the best AMD graphics card there is, but I think I just wanted to be in date lol. My friend got a similar rig 2 months ago but he got 6 core!!! OMF**K lol, but then he got a much lower end graphics card. So that's why I went for the quad core, so I guess I made up those differences between that and the graphics card.
BF3 graphics look insanely good on my friends computer and I am pretty sure that my system is good enough for future games for quite some time. All I need now is a good mouse mat and I am all set lol.

No idea if i5 is better than i7 or not, I used to think I'd be following that stuff forever but it stopped after I finished uni and started working.
That's when you'll learn about these things called "living expenses" and spend even less on PC bits, can't believe how much I spent on computers whilst I was studying

Dude I remember you packing an crossfire 3870 rig (at least I think it was that) with Core2Quad Q6600 G0 revision.
What happened to it man?!

Oh that was ages ago, sold off those graphics cards a while back and got a HD4870, upgraded the CPU to a Q9550 then to an i5 760 and put the core2duo parts in a file server. Changed the HD4870 to a HD5770, taking a small performance dip for a massive reduction in power usage and to test out eyefinity (turns out I'm not a fan).
That rig's packed away somewhere back at home.
Got a job in the Royal Australian Navy and no longer have room for a desktop so got my asus G51 laptop second hand last June, that's falling to pieces now so I'm changing it for a Metabox P170EM-SB which I'm hoping will arrive this week and will be the first laptop I've bought where I didn't completely cheap out.
