lag isn't an issue with consoles or PC as far as networking goes. It should be the same regardless of platform. I've had it happen to me plenty of times in BF3 on PC as well.
It's either one of two things. The first is that some games Just display to you what you think you're doing then update your screen based off of what actually happened; ie. you thought you ran behind a wall, but in reality you ate the mine with your face. The other is that some games blur what is possible to make it more favorable to higher lag players. Essentially the player hitbox is expanded when moving. In this case you were totally behind the wall, but just in case there was lag the game killed you anyway.

On Xbox Live, playing with a host that has a 100ms + ping isn't all that uncommon. I'm not sure how in 2011 this still happens.
Anyway, I've since started using the Stalker Pro perk. You can move faster with it while ADS, and the Pro adds a long delay to equipment.
After I hit level 80, I might just go back to Black Ops.

I guess since I used to play in <50 ping servers for 1.6 as early as 2003, I now find >100 ping to feel sluggish.
Sure it's playable, but it still licks balls.

Finally got to try it.
As previously said, the only reason to get it would be the campaign + the new survival mode.
Both I've found very enjoyable so far.
The multiplayer actually managed to feel worse than both Black Ops and MW2, by giving players who are level 30+ all the perks that are a basic necessity and by making Killstreaks continuously rain in from the sky as though players don't even need guns anymore.
It's still playable, but I also don't like how EVERY MAP IS GRAY OR BROWN.
Seriously, every fucking multiplayer map looks identical (Except the one or two snow maps).

Survival is kinda fun. But in the later rounds it just gets stupidly hard (Exploding Dogs, WITH Helicopters in the sky, WITH 3 Juggernauts? Man, fuck you). Unless you unlock a shit ton of stuff in Spec Ops mode, you're pretty much a sitting duck in Survival. With that said...
Spec Ops is pretty fun, again. There isn't a huge variety in missions compared to MW2, but it's a neat add-on that'll offer a few extra hours of strategy.

Actually if I was to be cynical, I'd say the story in the campaign wasn't just cheesy but presented itself with a few key flaws- but noone (including me) went in for the story, they tried the campaign for the fucking epic presentation. And it was pretty great imo, like watching the first Transformers movie for the first time.
Way better campaign than Black Ops + MW2 for sure.
