More to come later,
but my thoughts right now are....
it's pretty..... *meh. I like it more than blops, less than mw2.
It's something i never considered before.....i'm actually loathing the idea of re learning what guns are good, and which ones are terrible.

I might dabble into the single player a bit tomorrow before work. I'll wait until the weekend to try the multiplayer though, as it's always such a fuck-fest of lag and glitches those first few days anyway.
Edit:
I lied, and played some Multiplayer.
Wow, I forgot how much I liked Black Ops in comparison to MW2, but the first few minutes reminded me.
Original Sin33 killed by Predator Missile
Original Sin33 killed by Helicopter
Original Sin33 killed by Random Nade
Original Sin33 killed by another Predator Missile
I don't think I saw an enemy gun being fired until my 4th match.

WoW...really? Either you have the worst fucking luck in the world......or you suck.
I've only seen a handful of kill streaks so far.
Then again, that could be because i play SnD.

Imma wait until boxing day to see if there's a sale.
I see no reason to rush out and buy MW2.5 yet.

Actually not gonna start a fight or anything over this, but BF3 was a tad disappointing.
Don't get me wrong- the gameplay and the graphics are fantastic. But EA should have scrapped the browser based server, the punkbuster and then refined the game to where it had less noticable bugs.
I'm currently awaiting Skyrim + Minecraft for Xbox eagerly.

Derp.
Yeah, go try TDM with 5 random teammates that can't go positive. It's just killstreak after killstreak.
I was really hoping IW would follow Treyarch's idea, and not let killstreaks build on killstreaks like in MW2. As soon you get the Predator, you're almost guaranteed to get a helicopter (as long as you don't fuck up the easy double-kill).

Sadly, that's all this is imo. I'm really dissapointed. MW2 was just different enough from COD4 to barely scrape by as a sequel. To me, this feels like the same exact game a third time around.
I can't say I had high hopes to begin with but I gave it a chance anyway. I'll still play it for a bit, and probably come back to it every once and a while when I'm so inclined, but I regret shelling out the $60 for it.

Stop posting publicly. I can answer your questions.
I have proof.
I hope that if I found the strength to walk out you would stay the hell out of my way.

The browser based interface is actually doing really well. They've already updated it a few times, and that ability to update is what makes it a great idea. If it were a standard in app front end it would be a much bigger pain to update for consumers and developers.

/sigh
I forgot how miserable the first couple days of CoD are. You do great, for like the first 3 hours. When nobody has any map knowledge at all. Then you have to deal with campers, that seem to just choose a random corner ignoring any form of common sense, making it a hazard to move about the map.
On the games that i've played where the other team was actually good, i've learned this. It's literally impossible to hold any section of the map. There are so many side passages and houses to go through that you can't possibly cover any area. Especially in SnD (i've played a few games of td now) you spawn right on top of each other. Literally 5 seconds into the game you can have someone at your back shooting you. This is only a slight exaggeration.
---------------------------
All the maps have a range of size about as big as nuke town, to about twice as big as nuke town( but sometimes have multiple levels. So if you're like me and enjoyed maps such as wasteland, and derailed, then your shit out of luck. They're all literally chalked full of as many nooks, crannys, barrels, jeeps, and buildings as you could possibly fit on a maps of these size.
-------------------------------
The developers definitely picked favorites on weapons. You'd think that without stopping power (i say no stopping power, but it's basically built into the guns) snipers would be a little worse in this game. Nope. They're still fucking awesome. The ump is definitely one of the better smgs out of what i've unlocked so far. I still prefer the p90 and am hoping there's something similar that's a little better down the line.
------------------------------------------------
Assault rifles basically all blow. The g36c (which was my shit in CoD4) is still fucking awesome however. I don't use 3 burst guns, although i'm considering switching to them through the first 40 levels after i prestige.
LMGs are what they've always been, and shotguns are primary's again. Which considering the size of the maps, i'm ganna have to say was a good decision. Haven't messed around with those two types as much yet though.
----------------------------------------------------
Perks lack variety just as i expected. Just as in blops, and cod4 every1 will be using the same 4 or 5 for the life of the game. I find this very disappointing. I was looking forward to having a wide range of perks like mw2.
and last but not least, the graphics are a slight upgrade from mw2, and it handles similar. Most people wont see much of a difference, however if you've clocked as many hours in mw2 as me you'll pick up on some slight differences. The most exciting of which is, aim assist as been nerfed massively.
Long story short, the game play and feel screams 3arc, it's clearly the same thing blops was supposed to be, a mix between WaW and MW. However this time (imo) it's a little more tolerable. Idk, i'll probably end up playing it for the next year. I doubt i'll get into it as much as I did mw2, but it seems playable, especially if the map packs introduce any wide open maps.
that's just my feelings on multiplayer so far though. It may change, it's only been out for a few days so i may even discover i was wrong about some of this shit.

Response to p1 (of my quote):
This is disappointing to me. I disliked Nuketown so fucking much it's not even funny, because the map was basically just made to toss grenades and noobtoobs at eachother. If this is true, I'm almost disgusted. Oddly enough though, you're the only one I've heard mention this so far so I wanna hear from someone else that the maps are all basically small as shit maps (even with multiple levels). If so, I may avoid game until first mappack (when's that coming, a week or something? :'3)
Response to P2:
Aim assist being nerfed massively is a plus.
Btw, I bash MW2 but you aren't the only one who's clocked countless hours of the game. I think anyone who owned the game had at least a month where they literally couldn't let the game go and during that time I noticed a lot. From the videos on MW2.5 I'm seeing so far, they remodelled the intervention and slowed it down a bit (called it L11111111 something), they decreased shotgun accuracy slightly (thank fucking christ, it only took them 4 games to figure this out) and they added a juggernaut killstreak (which while does SOUND like a "cool idea" is a TERRIBLE idea gameplay wise as it just creates a gigantic target that slows down and distracts the entire battle going on around him. It's also slightly OP.)
Anyways, I'll prolly buy it boxing day. Or get it for Christmoose.

Response to p1 (of my quote):
I fucking hate nuketown as well. You'll be happy to know, explosives have been nerfed to shit. Noob toobs aren't unlocked right away, and they do shit damage, you don't unlock the rpg until lvl 70 something, and grenades have a huge fucking radius but have to be like right on top of you in order to actually get the kill. otherwise they just damage you. Edit2: Also there isn't any form of danger close, there isn't anything that increases explosive damage, AND there's a perk that decreases explosive damage. So literally nobody has any reason to bitch about explosives anymore imo (well...i guess i'll stick to that until i see how powerful the rpg is)
happy as fuck that aim assist has been nerfed to oblivion as well.
and there's supposed to be a dlc every month, so you never know, could be getting some better maps pretty soon.
Also, i realize i'm not the only one who's played for a shit ton of time. but on my main xbox account alone, i've clocked about 27 (edit: had 29 then looked) days.
That's not including multiple other small accounts that i've dicked around on while i was either banned for a day, or bored at 10th prestige. If any of you match that much time played, i would be very surprised.

Nerfing explosions is a nice change- it all sounds a bit too good to be true tho.
Anyways, I'm borrowing it off a friend who bought it for campaign on Monday.
So we'll see if they finally got it right.

Again tho, small ass maps don't impress. Apparently 99% of them are pretty much nuketown sized :/.
But I heard somewhere there was one map that was so insanely big it was retarded tho.
Not sure if you've played it yet?

I'm currently loving team death with the support streaks. I builds just like the assault package with kills, because you're in team death. Except you don't lose it when you die. Using UAV, Recon drone, and advanced UAV. Always knowing where your enemy is, is fucking awesome.

Betty's and Claymores are still hella overpowered in Hardcore mode. I've purposely set off a couple, run behind a wall, and still somehow died.
Probably just shitty console lag though.
