Heyyo,

So I just realized there's no thread for Rage lol. Just came out Oct3 2011 and I must say I'm impressed with the campaign, it's very well done. Multiplayer Co-op works good but sadly there's some netcode lag.. kinda jittery like Doom 3 was on release so hopefully id Software fixes it up... I'd recommend they just grab the fixed netcode that Splash Damage made for them on ETQW lol.

Right now the multiplayer's either really small or hard to find matches cause it uses a console-style / MW2 of you just join a match in progress or start one and invite friends via Steam friends.. so kinda a bummer but meh I'll try a few days from now and more people should be done the singleplayer and doing some multiplayer.

beat the first few missions. Seems like a legit game. Those fucking boomerang things are fckin awesome

It actually looks pretty fun and it's ID so you can't really go wrong.

UNFORTUNATELY I use an ATI card, therefore I'm going to be waiting a while or picking it up for 360. I've heard very bad things about Rage with ATI cards

Most people are hating it from what I hear. AFAIK ts also been dumbed down for consoles/A direct/lazy straight to PC port.

I heard the same thing but it's not as bad as people are making it sound.

It's just a few menu things that you CAN look past... people these days just like to complain.
that's from someone that complains a lot about how horrible in quality games have been turning lately.

I hear the largest problem for the PC version is that some hardware is having serious issues with it. In part related to some people not having the latest drivers.

The people complaining about it being dumbed down are just whining. The game still promises to be pretty awesome.

Apparently the game is a bad port with bad performance and no adjustable graphics settings. If this is true, the complaining is warranted.

oh ya, i'm not saying that it ruins the game.

I'm still enjoying it. While graphics in general don't mean anything to me, the game running smoothly does. If i'm constantly noticing texture pop in, it brings me out of the story, and out of the game play. It could be n64 graphics and i wouldn't care, i just want it to be......smooth

I've tried to play this game but I cannot. Serious issues, even with the latest drivers. (Most likely because I have the 6990, essentially a crossfire setup). Waiting on a hotfix, patch, or better drivers. The gameplay, judging from youtube, looks great. This game is also a Console benchmark. A good step in keeping consoles alive until a predicted (by me, I have no source) 2012 console refresh.

Not going to happen. Maybe announced in 2012, but I don't think they have the time to build up adequate hype by the 2012 holiday season. Usually you want to have a full year to hype and release few blockbusters so people actually feel the need to buy a new console.

I was gonna pirate it, but then I saw it was 20 gigs and I just don't care enough to move all the porn off of my flash drive to make room for it and then wait half a day for everything to transfer on and off (I do all my torrenting on a shitty laptop I got for free, just in case). It looked kinda bland anyway.

Well I hate Apple's computers because they basically condition them all as if computers should all have one standard set of hardware + software and should be limited to Apple says it can or can't use.

So far though, every console I've played has pretty much done the same thing.

So it COULD work. Not only that, but you'd be able to link it with your apple devices (basically just iPhones, u use anything but an iPhone / iTouch then you're a twat) and you'd be able to play your touch screen games on your TV, you'd be able to play your music (I think u can already do this with Xbox but... meh) and you'd probably even be able to do cool things like make video calls with devices like the kinnect to people's iPhones (which would be pretty similar to how video calls in Pokemon work lawlawl).

Basically what I'm saying is- I hate Apple. But it COULD work in theory (well if Jobs was still around anyway).

Sega would be my preferred candidate (despite the fact the majority of their consoles other than the Genesis were garbage, they at least have quite a bit of experience in the marketplace and as both a software developer + an old console buff they would probably be able to make their hardware the best for making software, making developers WANT to go with them (rather than deal with all the mistakes the PS3 / 360 made in that regard).

It would also cost $1000.
