Sooooooo we would all prefer one more webisode instead of the entire TV thing?

I would have, definitely. Hell, I think I would have preferred another episode of Pro at Cooking to the TV series.

I think the only time the TV series had the same feeling as the web series was when Jeremy and Doug discovered that they could pass time with absolute carnage. That and most of the episodes didn't feel like they had a natural progression. It was less: A just happened, therefore B happens, therefore C happens... and more: A happens. Then B happens because it's funny. The C happens. Then D happens. Progression is important for any narrative medium to work properly. In the web series every scene built to the next, in the TV show they did not.

But thats just wrong. Without the TV series, a new legion of fans would not have been born. Fans who are purchasing gear, and helping fund their new projects and endeavours.

What new projects and endeavors? Once they moved to TV they didn't continue any of their other projects. Maybe it is true that they intended to, but I dont think there was that much intention to continue on with the community outside of communication with it (i.e there was no intention to create more web episodes) I think their entire purpose for s1 of the show was to get a season 2 which unfortunately for them never happened.

I would be very interested to see how many fans on here came from the TV show and not from word of mouth about the original web episodes. I would guess that the number is very low, my reasoning being that the TV show just wasn't good enough to get people googling pure pwnage and finding this stuff, and I am guessing that when it was aired there wasn't a great deal of noise about the web series (management at Showtime probably took the usual management route of we only want our product being shows, not yours).

Just because they have new shit going on does not mean it must be PP related.

I think that's what everyone needs to take into account, Showtime was at the helm of the TV show, I'm sure the guys just had to do what they had to do to make things happen. If you go against the grain too hard, you get cut off.

Plotting is the bare basics of screenwriting. It isn't complicated. Geoff and Jeremy did a damned good job at it when they were online, but the TV series just... didn't.

That's a good point on Showtime being at the helm. With every episode, there was always some dude who was credited with Geoff and Jeremy in the writing. The production crew probably killed their natural flow and chemistry so they could hit all the standard beats you'd expect.

One of the "issues" was that each episode needed to be EXACTLY 22 minutes. There was 0 leeway for this; and Jarett and Geoff have said this in interviews.

That being said, it is a different medium. Imagine a PP movie. It would move EVEN QUICKER than the TV series did. Different mediums produce different content.

Could you imagine a TV channel dedicated to "Youtube Poop"? It would not be very popular would it? But channels on YT produce that "content" all the time.

Depends on what the plot of the movie was. I think their longer episodes prove that they understand pacing and build very well. Regardless of whether it was a reboot picture that started with the content of Life of a Pro Gamer and ended with Lanageddon or continued from where the web series left off to resolve the Gamer Army stuff, I think the pacing would be pretty fair. Cramming all of your content into 22 minutes though is kind of a struggle. Sometimes you don't have enough content to justify that length, and sometimes you have enough to go longer, but not long enough to justify a multi-part episode. The beauty of the internet.

Love how the resident tough guy is happy to talk trash on an internet forum but back pedals as soon as he is called out. Typical coward. No doubt he'll respond to this with excessive bravado in order to restore his rightful place as a fully fledged internet badass.
