hey guys

next year i'm going to university and I'm planning on buying a laptop. The only problem is I don't know where to buy one from, I live in Canada and was thinking of buying one online since they are less expensive and built with better parts than at best buy. I was hoping if you guys could either link me to good site or laptop for me to look at. I will be playing a little bit of games, but not too high quality. Right now all I play is guild wars and will get guild wars 2 when its out. Budget probably $600-800.

Best buy ones aren't really built with better or worse parts than anywhere else. They just have a smaller selection.

You probably won't get a laptop capable of playing guild wars 2 for $600-800, but I'd get an HP just because you get a free 360 when you buy an hp laptop right now at best buy.

This is actually what I'm personally thinking of getting. It can play SC2 on low-med, and it has a 120hz refresh rate. It's at the upper-end of your price range, though.

not sure, but it shouldn't matter. You can sell it on ebay for $200 an recoup some costs.

I think it's in canada as it applies to future shop too, and we don't have those in the US as far as I know.

I have an older model of this and it plays most games on medium to low but games like Crysis or really high resource racing games won't run very well at all.

I've tried:
Fallout 3
Oblivion
TF2
Sc2
L4D
CSS
N4S-Hot Pursuit (on the lowest settings this runs well, with little bursts of lag once in a while)

But tbh u should just throw in the extra $100 for the laptop above (the $700 one, was very nice)

Runs SC2 on medium at like 80 FPS, haven't tried anything else on it yet. Stupidly amazing for $800.

Oh yeah, it has a Blu-ray player, too. I didn't even know when I bought it.
