FREE SHIT INCOMING.
Personally, I'm not interested in any of them. I'd rather have the extra space on my hard drive. I appreciate the offer though.
Looks like you can also get free... music? Who the fuck buys music on PSN?

I am very interested in LBP for PSP. For the longest time I have tried to stay away from it on PSP but now that it is free... along with Pursuit force... HELL YEAH. But I do agree that the free stuff is rather meh for me. But hey. This is part of their welcome back package...

(Quick little FFB: At least PlayStation gave us better games to choose from rather than "Underblow." icon_razz.gif icon_razz.gif icon_razz.gif icon_razz.gif icon_razz.gif icon_razz.gif)

As for music. HAH. I've been getting all of Skrillex's latest mixes for free. Pretty much any Discography I want can be mine in minutes...

There seems to be a lot of articles revolving around Nine Inch Nail's song: "The hand that feeds."

I must say some of these people do not sound like they are true gamers. I am beginning to see some true colors from journalists around the web. What they just fail to mention is that Sony is not just giving you a list of games that are cheap to distribute. These games are very high profile and is another marketing strategy to help promote their IP's next big titles.

I will use this example like I stated earlier: XBL is a service that you pay for. When it went down due to high numbers of gamers playing on their servers all at once a lot of people could not enjoy XBL for what it was. This is a service that you pay for. And the only thing Microsoft could do to compensate for its failure, to maintain its end of the bargain and image, they gave you a month of free XBL and gave you 1 game: Undertow.

Granted the 360 didn't suffer from a massive cluster fuck, but from a service that is completely free to begin with, whom of which is offering you over 100 dollars worth of goods and services.... Yeah I must say they impressed me.

Whether or not your credit card is truly in the hands of a wrong doer, who will use it, I believe is a chance of 1-1,000. It is my own opinion but with everyone awake and aware, the frauds will most likely not touch such numbers. Unless your card was used immediately following the PSN downfall to the point were information about the attack became clear, then I believe you have nothing to worry about.

As a matter of fact, on most company cards, you have until the next billing cycle to report a purchase that you did not make. You do not have to monitor it 24/7. Just be more aware when you normally check your statements each month that come in the mail.

W2L you reported yours as soon as you saw your balance. I did the same thing. Sure you might have been held back on that money for a few weeks, but I can guarantee you that it was much better than losing it all together. You may have to suffer but in the end you will get it back.

Most banks refund you the money immediately and do their own investigations, if it is a credit union or major bank chain with high acclaim.

So all in all, do you really want to cry about something that you are getting for free?

These over reactions, and cry babies together, along with fanboy journalists, are really starting to piss me off.

Sony has been under enough fire for the past ten years. Lay off them.

From "Toy story graphics," to Immersion's law suit, to Kaz Hirai's resignation, to anonymous, to the breach of security.

At least they don't go down without a fight.

I stopped reading when you implied Sony treated their customers better than Microsoft.

I once bought a PS2 slim from Sony, back when it first came out. The disc reader burned out after a month. I brought it to Sony's store and they got a good chuckle out of my expense. They then let me know that it would cost MORE than what it would cost to buy a new PS2 to have it shipped and repaired- apparently I had no warranty. I let them know that they can kiss my ass.

To this day I think Sony are fucktards. They knew their service was hackable for years now. YEARS. Not days, weeks or even a few months. A FEW YEARS they've known that their network had major flaws- but put them off. What's the worst that can happen, right?

Sony is the exact opposite of customer service. Just because they decide to give away a few outdated titles and games that PS3 owners should already have (LBP's probably the best title for the console as sad as it is) doesn't mean they've done anything better than Microshit. Microshit makes their own retarded mistakes, like RROD but this was indeed probably one of Sony's biggest fuckups and just because they can attempt to cover it up by giving away free games doesn't mean we have to accept it.

Thanks for being real.

My big deal with Microsoft's way of compensating for their outage was rather a spit in our face. Sure after about 9 months of reported XBOX 360 failures they finally gave in and started repairing them for free. For a few years. I can applaud Microsoft for that but Sony has already spent a lot of money trying to fix everything with what is currently happening.

I can applaud them for giving out so much after taking so much in losses over the past few years just to help keep the PS3 in line.

Microsoft could have at least given more when the outage happened to them. Sony's offer is nothing more than a PR device and it is working.

But the point of that earlier post was to point out just how repugnant people are.

You will never satisfy people until they have played on your skin flute... And even then they'd be pissed because they had a premature release and fucking complain.

The way I see it there just is no honor in this generation of console gamers.

True, but there hasn't been much honor since like the NES/Sega days anyway.

How is it any different? They both had some design flaw known to the higher ups that caused a significant amount of their players to be unable to play their games and they both compensated the users with games or subscriptions.

Undertow is their blessing? Shit you should have gotten Geometry wars.

Actually yes there was... at least in my time. We all played NES and Sega equally. It all started going to shit for me when PS1 came out. Everyone wanting to play on the PS1 instead of coming over to play Perfect Dark or Golden eye.... Not even Starfox 64 was good enough in my neighborhood. Yeah a lot of people started waning towards Playstation. That was the time I actually hated Sony. It took my friends away from me. So I gave into PS2 after a year of no games and since then I actually love the console. With the XBOX 360. I just can't justify owning one yet. I'll stick to PC.

Dude they sent out retail games and gold subscriptions with their repairs for a long time. Undertow was just their thank for XBL gold subscribers.

edit: that was carcassone, my bad. undertow was still not quite the same situation. Intermittent down time for a week because of overcrowding is not quite the same as having all your customers credit card numbers and addresses stolen resulting in your service being down for all members for close to a month.

No there wasn't. It was even worse. The companies publicly attacked each other. Not just with PR underhanded comments. Like up front publicly attacked each other to their faces.

It's almost as if they were... MARKETING!! :OOOOO

No, the unhonorable thing to do is having underhanded comments and poking at the one or two problems the opposite company has nonstop. The old way they used to make ads about each other was more of a joke than anything and really when it came down to it kids owned a sega/nes based on cost- not the games or ads the companies had.

I just dislike how the fans of the 360/ps3 era bitch and complain about everything (MW2 fans too) and can't just get along... ffs they're the same console with a bluray/dvd difference >=/. They're both cheap ass companies that treat their customers like shit- that's all that really matters.

The free games came after you sent in a broken one. I applaud that. But what is the use of those free games if you can't play them when your refurbished unit doesn't work out of the box it came in?

24 days.

But anyway I still don't believe anyone has anything to worry about. Unless your card was used fraudulently before Sony made this public then you have nothing to worry about. Can't really come up with a similar situation but... I guess you could compare it to flies to a fresh dog shit basically. Where as the flies are the FBI and various other companies over the shit left in your back yard.

Sorry but when I had an SNES (First owned system.) I was like... 7 years old or so... We got the SNES when Mortal Kombat came out. My first fatality was Scorpions R UP UP move. That is all I can remember. Never really knew about magazines until I was 15 and brought home an FHM magazine. Mom was pissed. Dad stole it from me. All of my friends had both systems. We played anything that came out. I still remember getting confused on what I was supposed to do with Sonic...

Then I remember I couldn't beat Donkey Kong Country 2. The rising toxic ooze level with the snake dude... Kept dying just before the end.

Dead Nation

LittleBigPlanet
Super Stardust HD
Wipeout HD + Fury

Wouldn't want any of these icon_neutral.gif And I definitely wouldn't want these titles taking up HDD space.

It's still a pain in the ass. I don't think it would be out of the question for a college student to find out he can't pay for dinner because his account has been overdrawn, as that's nearly what happened to me.

I dislike the type of game that Dead Nation is for 2 reasons -

1. It's INCREDIBLY easy to program and make art for that game.
2. That type of game seems to get boring really fast.

Wipeout - Oooooh HD Excitebike... Interesting true, but it gets boring fast.

StarDust - Never heard of it so I'll give you that me calling it shit had nothing to back it up...
