I haven't played Dragon Age, Witcher, Mass Effect 2 (played the first mission of ME1), Diablo 2 (beat Diablo 1 many times) or any of the Elder Scrolls. So... I guess I've got a few games to play?

I haven't played Witcher nor any of the mass effects. I'm probably going to start a riot by saying this, but I think the mass effect series look a little boring. I might change my mind once I get the chance to play them. Can anyone tell me if The Witcher is worth buying?
I highly recommend getting Dragon Age for the PC. You will not regret it. You should get the ultimate edition. It has the game and the expansion along with all the DLCs for $40-$50.

Is the 360 version really that inferior?
Yes. Trust me holmes. There are (unfortunately) many bugs that console players cannot deal with and the PC layout is much better. You can also get some free dlcs that aren't available for the consoles as well. If you do get the game and run into any problems, the bioware forums and the dragon age nexus can help you out.

RAGE is probably the only game I'm looking forward to on the list, Deus Ex: Human Revolution I'm a bit iffy on because they could easily fuck it up just like Invisible Wars, Diablo 3 i'd only play if my younger brother buys it (I've never actually finished D2) and the rest just looks like your average SP RPG trash.
Portal 2 is the only exception to any of this because ... Well ... The first one was like a what, 3 hour long puzzle game? I don't wanna waste my money on 2 if it's the same thing but I will surly pirate it.

Some are game "breaking" while others are more subtle things. For example, there is a bug in awakening during the silverite mines quest where you can potentially lose all of your stuff. There are other things like skills not working, the infamous speed bug (when your attack speed modifiers surpass 50% it goes back to the normal attack speed), dialogues among party members that don't make sense under various conditions, plus to healing effects not working, etc. Trust me. There are a whole bunch of bugs that can be fixed by unofficial patches.

The mass effect series are a little boring. And The Witcher, I enjoyed it, the combat was pretty bad, but the story was good, and the alchemy and shit. Its $5 on steam ATM, well worth that, especially cause it'll set it up for the much-better-looking sequel.
Cant fucking wait for D3, and the next elder scrolls COULD be good, hope so.
