Hi.

Just today I bought WotLK and I installed it and added the code thing to my account, to get ready for some wowage. I bought the battle chest to install wow standard and BC to which the patches are like 3.2.1 or somehitng. WotLK was only upto 3.0.1 because it was made bfore the release of the battle chest. THis means Im missing like 10 patches or something.

However, when I run the launcher to get the missing patches, so I can re-install all my other patches (3.2 - 4.0), it closes and says that:
"Launcher requires write permission to the World of Warcraft Registry key to successfully locate and run the game. Please enable write access to the Regristy key using an administrator account."

But the fking launcher isnt even write protected! As in that small box that has 'Read-Only' next to it is UNTICKED. So I tried to click on it, start eh launcher, then unclick it to see if it would make the error stfu. But it didnt. I've tried running as adminitrator (didnt work) Ive tried deleting the launcher and running the repair tool (didnt work) and ive searched everywhere for the missing patches but I cant find a site to get them from. Can anyone please, please help me with this before I rack my parent's phone bill up the ass by calling Blizzard and telling them how fking retarded they are that their program says to eneble something that was already enabled.

On another note when is Diablo 3 coming out? WoW is an aweosme game but that doesnt mean the development of other games should be put on the back burner cause yor too busy with somehting else. Thanks for your time and I hope you can help.

WotLK came out much later than the Battle Chest.

Or you can not be dumb and you could post on blizzard tech support forums instead of some random add forum and expect to get your problem solved. Jeez what a revo-fucking-lution.

You're welcome. Guess the thread can be locked now that the problem is solved.

I've been through about 11 threads about this exact problem. Blizzards only solution was to right click and run as administrator. I came here becuase I thought someone might have heard of the issue seeing it appeared noone over there had a working solution.

Sorry for being an asshole though, just was pissed off.

just download the whole game from battle.net, once you have a certain amount of data you can play while it keeps downloading in the background.
